But on a serious note I think she would've been another very big reason for her not to go with the watcher ( trying to avoid spoiling others ). As much as she cares about slate she still tries to convince herself that he is just there for the money cuz she has a hard time believing that someone actually cares about her without any expectations and we see that in gr when she offers him the seals to make him hers again. But if there had been a mother figure? That would've been different cuz she couldn't come up with any excuse for why slate's mom would feel compelled to care about her and she also never had a mother figure so that would've been extra special for her and I like to think that mama slater wouldn't have even let them go to that city to investigate in the first place💔

note: im running off absolutely nothing rn so these may be mischaracterizations

even though eve is very rich, mama slater insists always that they have dinner at their house

eve has her own room that she decorated and everything

whenever eve plans something and mattias joins in because he’s her “bodyguard” (brother really), they are both shouted at by mama slater

mattias thinks his mother is the coolest person ever no matter how long he doesn’t admit

they are eves found family 🥹

mama slater loves celebrating birthdays so she makes a cake for either mattias or eve and makes a big deal out of their aging

mama slater has a habit of pinching mattias’ cheek so eve also started to pinch his cheek for the sake of it

eve is VERY observant and ever since her incident with the teacher, she had a habit of always looking for exits - mama slater saw this once when she was staying over and gave her a spare key to their house instead of calling it out

mama slater one day wanted to have a day out dedicated going out with her two favourite children - they had the most fun ever

mama slater enforces this rule where there’s no talk of puzzles, the hawthornes and games etc etc on a day where they’re all together - it’s the only time where eve is allowed to be a normal teenager/young adult

mattias can always get eve to laugh and usually is the only one when she shuts down so mama slater will watch them interact knowing eve only softens with him

one time mama slater was watching eve and mattias throw darts and mattias was trying to teach eve to throw it on the centre knowing fully well he could barely do it - mama slater then corrected BOTH of them and hit it in the centre and walked out (go mama slater 😛)

both mama slater and eve like to tag team him and make fun of how down bad he is for gigi (let’s pretend tgb doesn’t exist for now)

mattias is quite fashionable sometimes and eve just says he gets it from his mother

they all spent a day trying to crochet - all failed but mama slater

mama slater bought stickers for both mattias and eve to stick on their special belongings - they both said they ‘didn’t’ but they did

eve and mama slater hit it off instantly after they met

mattias and eve both have this odd obsession with mario kart and get very competitive over it - mama slater had to separate them once after to turned into a pillow fight

mattias is also the designated driver all the time

From what I got, darby and keith are like gigi and slate, so if gigi and slate have a girl, they will have a lyra.

Also, I feel like grayson and slate are similar too, their main diference is that slate doesn't yapp like grayson, he is the quiet type (like keith). Grayson IS a yapper he just needs to be comfortable to do so.

So, to sum up, slate and gigi are lyra's parents, and gigi ended up with someone that is like her brother...

It really really didn't. See I genuinely love javery i have no problem with them and that's why I'm not even saying this because their heavy involvement lowkey ruined the chance for other couples and characters to develop well ( which it did ) but I'm saying this for themselves. Their ending in tfg and then that promise ring scene in games untold was THE PERFECT ENDING. They did NOT need the epilogue. Just imagine an epilogue with gigi, lyra and rohan each having one or two chapters about their relationships after that 8 month time jump and it could've still been a hawthorne gathering for 4th of July but from tgg characters' pov and then maybe one chapter from eve's pov? Just a glimpse of her life and how she's doing?

WOW I am SO happy to read about gigi and savannah standing next to slate and rohan from AVERY's pov and NOT AT ALL wanted to actually read about their relationships after 8 months from THEIR OWN pov cuz yk if I'm not wrong I kinda feel like this series was called THE GRANDEST GAME sooo maybeee it had to be about THE GRANDEST GAME CHARACTERS but anyways them STANDING next to each other is SO romantic🥹🥹
