I know for a fact that once jameson and xander found out that grayson spent a whole day in hawthorne house using jeans and a flannel, they went insane because they didn't get to see it, and no one took any pictures of it.

They felt extremely betrayed by this situation. When gigi found out she made a comment about limes that only grayson understood.

I feel like lyra is usually a quiet person and really pacient in general, yet, if you push the right (wrong) buttons, she will get agressive. She is definitely not afraid of getting into a fight, she knows how to defend herself, and she will do it.

Is she good at fighting? Maybe... It might depend on the person she fights.

Lyra, to me, is all-american bitch coded, specially the screaming part because she mentions a lot of times that she wanted to scream.

I headcanon that Nash wanted to teach her how to fight like he did with avery, but decided against that because he realised that she has a temper and he thinks she might want to fight everyone. He probably wants to pay her some yoga classes after tgb.

The other day on tt I saw an old newspaper report from my country about a girl that abandoned her daughter and left her with a letter and what would be the equivalent of 1 dollar. When I say old I mean like from 1998-2002. In the letter, the mother, who was a young girl, wrote that she had been sa, that her parents had kicked her out of the house when they found out, and that the only thing she could offer to the child was a dollar.

Reading this news and seeing how people back then villainized this child reminded me how awfully jlb treated such a topic. Katalin should have never just be a villain, sa should have never been implied if jlb just wanted to say that katalin didn't want lyra or that she was evil and a true believer. Sa can never be a plotline if you are not going to explore it with the respect and information that it needs.

How could this whole plotline have been improved?

Maybe by lyra and katalin meeting. Maybe by katalin telling lyra that she could have never been her mother or the mother she would have been. Maybe katalin could have told luiz to find lyra a family that would love her and protect her. Then, at the end, katalin could have told lyra that she is glad she had people that loved her. That would have been a good way to close this plotline, it would give lyra's character a believable closure because you can't tell me the girl that feels everything, the empathetic girl, would see her biological mother knowing all that and feel nothing, that is so out of character or at least for the character jlb tried to write in tgg and gr.

A sa survivor should never be villainized in this way.

Despite being in a man-hating cult, Alice is the prime example of a boy mum. Imagine choosing your son's girlfriend, who has a child that won't abandon btw, as your heir over your very capable and smart daughter (Zara). Alice and Tobias clearly cared so little about their daughters, toby was their favorite, and it is proved throughout the whole series.

Every time I think about Zara, I feel so sorry for her, she tried so hard, and at the end she was no one's favorite. Maybe I don't like Skye, but I think they should work on their relationship, after all they are sisters, and they need that bond.

As I am not really tired of being a hater. Why did jlb made avery the centre of everything in this book? Why was she supposed to be Alice's heir? Just because she is hannah's daughter? Also, I don't really hate hannah, but this series wasn't about avery so why did hannah have such an important role? Just because she was toby's love and smart? That makes honestly no sense, they had no relation to the cult at all. Alice should have been an actual threat. Why can't jlb let hawthornes be villains?

I would have erased completely the whole sa and katalin situation. It would have been better if katalin had chosen to be part of the cult because someone had told her lyra was born dead or something like that. Then years later, omega katalin found out her daughter is actually alive because of the game and she wants her to be part of the cult so she could finally be with her, but katalin is now a psycho and lyra loves her family, so she doesn't want to.

On another note, I honestly hated seeing hannahtoby in all the povs, like why do lyra, rohan and gigi see their eternal love if they literally know nothing about them? I understand that jameson does because he knows all the context, but the others???

Finally, why are the villains in this story so goddamn random? Katalin? The kyrie? Freya? The vega family? Who are they? How can I actually hate them if I don't know them. It should have been someone we knew.

The dead witch being a villain could have been good if she wasn't only there for 5 minutes with zero explanation. It would have been better if odette was the villain, or hannah's sister, or even hannah.

I hate this feeling, because I love these characters and this series and it was just so superficial.

The worst thing about tgb is that I saw the spoilers, and I was genuinely excited about it. Some things were questionable, but I could live with that (except the epilogue). Yet, when I read the book I wanted to cry.

For me, every single tig book had become my favorite after its release (except gu and tsbaf), and the fact this book is one of my least favorite says a lot. I still prefer tgb over tsbaf, that book was awfull, and will be forever hated by me.

The tiny lyra-zara scenes made me belive these two would be close in the future. When zara told lyra that her mother didn't choose her, and then they tore apart her old room, for me that was a cute bonding activity. From what I remember, this is nicest and most honest interaction zara had in the whole series.

This scenes also paralel some lyrason scenes, like for example the "want to do some damage?" scene. Also in gr, lyra asks grayson if he is going to be okay and in his monologue he mentions that he had been asked that question so infrequently if at all. Then, in tgb, lyra asks zara "what about her?" in the sense of what happened to her when she got desinherited or smth like that, and zara answers "that is not a question I am accustomed to anyone asking."

This book reminded me a lot that zara and grayson are alike, that would be why he is her favorite nephew.

I imagine lyra going to zara's wing when she needs to get out of the hawthorne chaos. I also imagine them reading together in zara's sitting room, they don't really talk much, they just enjoy their company.

Continuing my idea of a lyra novel, at this school/university lyra would meet her paternal cousin that would be in the same program.

She would realize her paternal side was also a rich family, and that her cousin is one of the two possible heirs of their fortune because from three children this family had (two sons and a daughter) only two grandkids were born (three plus lyra). Also, only one son is still alive as lyra's biological father and aunt are dead. For some unknown reason the other son is not part of the heirs.

Lyra wants nothing to do with them, but she becomes part of the friend group her cousin is also part of, and things get weird after that. Everything starts to get more dangerous for her, does anyone know about her parentage? Is she safe? Does her family know her existance? Does she want them to know? Does that put her real family at risk?

The more I think about it, the more exciting this sounds. Jlb I'll pay you for this!

I am trusting jlb next book is something like the debutantes, but set in an elite ballet school or in a university with a dance major. Lyra, of course, is one of the main characters, and there is a murder or a disappereance, and her and a group of her classmates end up being somehow involved maybe there is like a secret society, and all that.

No grayson or hawthornes (or adjecents) allowed in this story, just lyra and a group of girls in the middle of the stage. Maybe grayson has a line on the phone with her.

If jlb wants to give lyra even more lore, she could make her meet her biological father's family. Spoiler alert, they are all terrible people.
