Reality shifing for losers - an(un) complete guide

I've been active in the shifting community on discord, reddit, and tiktok for over a year. But I've yet to see much shifting content here on tumblr (there probably is a whole ton and I'm just looking in the wrong places) so I thought, why not make some myself?

Therefore, I'm making a guide, using all the info I've gotten through the last year and a half. It'll *at least* cover all the basics. And I'll also try to sort out all the crazy misinformation that is out there (shifttok, I'm looking at you).

I want to make one thing clear though: I'm not a physicist. I'm neither an omniscient god. I don't know the secrets of the universe. This is obvious, of course, but I want you all to know that I'm definitely wrong about a bunch of stuff. There are only opinions regarding the nature of shifting. We'll get into the different believes later, multiverse vs consciousness theory, and so on.

What is shifting?

To put it simply, shifting is moving your awareness to another universe and body.

I mentioned earlier about the different theories shifters believe in. Many shifters believe in a mix between the two. All of this is very individual and as I mentioned before, there is no hard proof or science behind it. But, I'll briefly explain them since I think that it makes it easier to undersatnd shifting as a whole.

Multiverse

If I were to guess, I’d say the most common theory is the multiverse one, or some version of it. It implies that there’re unlimited realities in which all possibilities exist. For example, there’s a reality where all humans have blue skin, one where animals can talk, and so on.

And whenever we make a decision, the realities split. Today I chose to have eggs for breakfast, but in another one, I had oatmeal.

The way the multiverse folks explain shifting is that you shift your awareness to a different reality. Think of it this way: you’re in a house with a bunch of windows. In each one, there’s a different reality. When you shift, you’re just looking out of a different window.

Consiousness

In the other popular theory, shifting takes place in your head. This is the consciousness theory. When you shift your brain manipulates your senses so that you experience an alternate “reality”. And this happens when you’re in a deep meditative state, or rem sleep. But, it’s important to note that it is not the same as dreaming.

Some may also have a solipsistic approach to it. That is, that one can only know that they themself are real, “I think therefore I am”. You can’t know whether anyone else is real or just a projection. You might be the only person and the universe might just exist in your head. And when you shift you alter the reality.

I’m getting carried away, there’s a lot to talk about when it comes to theories, and I think it’s really interesting. But I digress.

To sum it up: Shifting is moving your awareness to another reality, or altering your perception of it.

Cr, dr, or… It’s all confusing, to be honest. But do not fright, here’s a lexicon!

cr - current reality

The reality one is experiencing right now. Often used synonymously with “original reality”.

or - original reality

The reality of which one “originally” from. This is a useful but sometimes troublesome concept. Technically, you don’t have a reality you’ve been in since birth, because one’s reality split and shifts all the time. But it’s still a good way to simply describe which reality you “originate” from. No need to be nitpicky about technicalities.

dr - desired reality

This is the reality you want to go to, the name is pretty straightforward.

wr - waiting room

A place where you can shift to before going to your desired reality. It can be a meadow or a spa or whatever you want. It’s good for people that don’t want to jump straight into their dr.
