Running in a blue vest to support culture in institutions
On the initiative of the Fête de la musique, athletes will be able from Friday to sponsor an action in favor of artists and social institutions.
Due to health measures, social, cultural, and sporting life is on standby. Amateur athletes, deprived of infrastructure due to forced closures, have fallen back in numbers on running, cycling, or walking. They can now make a gesture of solidarity in favor of other victims of the Covid-19 crisis: social institutions and artists. By buying one of the 500 blue reflective vests at 20 francs which will be on sale this Friday on the Kariyon site, they can finance the fees often professional artists from the region who will perform, on June 21, in ten institutions. Friborg women who have lived almost in isolation in recent months.
Among the beneficiaries, we find in particular the homes of Bonnesfontaines and Villa Beausite, but also Les Buissonnets, the Cantonal Hospital, La Tuile, the FARA (Foundation workshops and residences for adults), and the Central Prison.
This initiative was set up by the association of the Fête de la musique de Friborg, which thus wishes to help relieve the musicians and residents of institutions "who already know a fragile daily life" and for whom "the crisis has not. makes these situations worse," she says. Through this Gilets Bleus operation, the Fête de la Musique de Friborg wishes to offer athletes "the opportunity to support a positive joint operation, where music plays its essential role in forging social ties, which is more important today. than ever," explains Mathieu Fleury, president of the association.
He added that this action does not replace but complements the music festival, the 19th edition will be held at Friborg summer solstice in a form compatible with health standards.
