Can we please just talk about the fact that Chrostopher Paolini is coming out with a fifth book? I know it's old news, but I just get so excited I just...
"Keeping yourself positive is crucial to reaching any goal, and drafting a novel in such little time is no exception."
Check out my article! Writing a novel in 30 days is tough, but it IS possible!
The style of this quote is short, and the writing is depicted in a black-and-white manner with an understated font to further emphasize the point. We all stress top much. We need to remember the benefits of simplicity.
My tumblr posts would be incomplete without the inclusion of this pun. Stylistically, I apprecoate the inclusion of the illustration, as well as the accompanying speech bubble. It serves to get across the point of the pun.
The use of this meme is to depict often-reported headlines of each of the major news sources seen by the American public. This meme does an excellent job at depicting both the style of these headlines and the ridiculousness of the content that is too-often seen as breaking news.
I find this rhetorically unrelatable, az curling up and wrapping myself in a blanket has done nothing but make me feel better when I am upset. I also note the misspellong, which stylistically makes this appear youthful, like a reversion to childhood.
This quote is very reminscent of Luna Lovegood from JK Rowling's Harry Potter series (but with a smart aleck twist). I enjoy the way that it equates small minds to ignorance, since a great mind considers nothing as too small. The unspoken link in the quote makes its effective and makes the open-minded seem great.
Another blatant jab at Donald Trump. This is conveyed through the lens of a parent-child relationship. It validates the fact that America feels like a disappointed parent. It also unveils the implications of what a Trump presidency could create as an example for following generations.
This was clearly shown in a humorous attempt to show how amusing a misunderstanding of the English language can be. As an asthmatic, I laughed pretty hard at the inhaler bit, because I too have laughed so hard I literally needed am inhaler to breathe. Also, you can't help but giggle at "bird leaf." 😂😂😂😭
This allusion to Christianity speaks volumes. It portrays Jesus as preaching biblical words while Donald Trump, behind whom many evangelical conservatives have rallied, protests. This is used to imply hypocrisy, and it is an effective style.
This is a nice example of interesting rhetoric, used on the Internet by one of the evangelist preachers who came to campus. The fear mongering and visual textual style is entertaining.
Here's another one. The imagery used in this quote is extremely powerful, and it evokes a very strong picture in the mind's eye. Add that to the fact that it's an empowering quote, and you've got the perfect style of quote.
This little phrase stuck with me today. The off-kilter parallelism caught my attention, and the message just really hit home today. Casual enough to feel real, deep enough to be relatable.
This struck me as a very intriguing concept. At first, I was skeptical, but no matter how many combinations I attempted, when I simplified the adjectives to three or fewer preceding their noun, this held true. I've never thought of this before, so this piqued my interest. So many questions... No wonder English is difficult for non-native speakers!
This is one of my all-time favorite Harry Potter quotes. It uses great imagery, and it really speaks to that element of imperfections. That exists in all of us, no matter how hard we might try to repress it. It also puts our destinies in our own hands, because we get to choose.
