Mycenaean Lego
The Butterfly Hunters
If the cat's ears are upright, then the butterflies are somewhere nearby
A leopard and leopardess in love looking at a butterfly in flight. One of the eight sewn-on golden heraldic insignias of Mycenaean wanassa.
The look direction of the panthers, the tense postures expressing the readiness to jump, the ears position, everything matters in the scene. The master who created the Butterfly Hunters undoubtedly had high cognitive abilities. A single piece is just a quality work of art. The two fragments together form a masterwork. A surprising and touching sense comes from the void.
Proximity to nature has given the creator an opportunity to stop the time so that we could remember and understand a moment. It seems a second longer and cats will start the Hunt.
The images for these collage drafts are taken from the book: "Mycenae: A Journey in the World of Agamemnon" by Alkestis Papadimitriou, Elsi Spathari.
