Action isn’t just the effect of motivation, but also the cause of it.
Mark Manson
If you have to try to be cool, you will never be cool. If you have to try to be happy, then you will never be happy.
Mark Manson
Happiness is the process of becoming your ideal self.
Mark Manson
Imagine who you want to be and then step towards it.

"Love people for the messed up ways that they already are, not how you'd wish them to be."
Mark Manson
Never say, "I want that, but I can't afford it." That's dumb because it just cancels the desire. Say instead, "I'd love that, and I welcome it." The words don't matter so much, but the vibe matters a lot. The vibe is simply the summation of your thoughts and feelings about the desire. Wanting something and then coming up with excuses why you can't have it (not enough money, time, skills, etc) means you're emitting a conflicted vibe -- your mind is creating incongruent static, which is what you'll receive in return. Even if you have no clue how you'll get what you want, simply rest in that beautiful and delicious space of desire. Imagine having what you want right now, and don't broadcast lame excuses for why you can't go there. Just go there in your imagination, and let that be enough for now. If it shows up, it shows up. If not, simply continue to relax into that space of desire. Eventually you'll have some inspired ideas that you can act on. You'll experience your desires much faster this way than you will by continuing to dwell in blocking and excuses. Next time you catch yourself saying or even thinking of some reason you can't have what you want, stop that (again, because it's just plain stupid)... and then let yourself imagine having it without pushing it away.
Steve Pavlina
You buy her lilies because roses are too cliche. She hates lilies because they remind her of funerals. So you buy her gardenias at your mother's suggestion. For years, your house smells of gardenias. Then, one year, it smells of lilies.

We never learn important things by being told. We have to find out for ourselves.
Paulo Coelho
The only thing that matters at the end of every day is how you feel about yourself.

You can’t be lazy about enjoying life.
Chris Shepherd
You simply can’t be friends with someone you love unless they love you back. It’s soul-crushing.

Pain is unavoidable. Suffering is optional.
The truth shall set you free, but first it will piss you off.
Follow your bliss. If you do follow your bliss, you put yourself on a kind of track that has been there all the while waiting for you, and the life you ought to be living is the one you are living. When you can see that, you begin to meet people who are in the field of your bliss, and they open the doors to you. I say, follow your bliss and don’t be afraid, and doors will open where you didn’t know they were going to be. If you follow your bliss, doors will open for you that wouldn’t have opened for anyone else.
Joseph Campbell
The cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek.
