I spot my dog lying on the last thing I left, like a cushion or a jacket, after I disappear for a while. And I am wondering if lying on something that smells like their friend makes them feel better, or if they are capable of feeling longing to someone.
Just started wondering if this is the reason they take all the best places to sit too. Like some chairs look very uncomfortable for my dog, but she sleeps on it anyway.

What the mind knows but the heart refuses to believe, and what the hear knows but the mind doesn't understand. I feel this is true, but the question that bothers me is: When the heart and mind finally agree after a dispute would it cause more happiness and content to go with it or not? Or is either the heart or the mind always more right than the other?

I had a very eerie dream today. A bit of context is required, I live in a boarding school and just had my midyears. We get to go home for a week a few days after the midyears end.
So I started with my phone in my hand, I had just collected it from the housemaster. While I was staring at it, I noticed a few things. One was that it felt flimsier than usual, and two its back had a few bumps. I was walking down the corridor of my building when I noticed my spanish teacher was calling us from downstairs. Naturally, I leaned over the ledge to hear her, she wanted to set a time to visit her and complete our internal assessment (which I had forgotten about till then). As I was leaning over, I left my phone on the ledge. So when I picked it up there was a bit of dust on it. After I was done listening to her. I made way for my study (my room) and I was just cleaning the dust off my phone against my chest, when I heard a crack. I looked down, the phone had bent from the middle, and there was a crack along the middle of the phone. I got a bit worried as it was an expensive phone and I had no idea what to tell my parents. I got back to the room left my phone and decided to deal with it later. I went down to a large hall where all my IB classmates were settled and were furiously discussing the midyears and the insensitive system by which the administration would decide our predicted scores (for college) that was recently devised by our Deputy Head of Academics. After a bit of time there, I decided to go back and prepare my Spanish internal assessment that was to happen tonight. When I reached my room I noticed my study partner (roommate) had shifted out, he saw me and looked me dead in the eye. With an empathetic gaze he asked me if I didn’t mind. We had had our share of arguments recently and I just nodded to him saying I understood. When I reached my room, I noticed my Math marks which had dropped considerably from last time, were lying on my table. I ignored them, and decided to use my phone to help with the Spanish assessment. I pulled the drawer out, a bunch of stuff was lying on top of the phone. I pushed them aside and saw that a pen had stabbed its way through the screen.
This is where I was woken up..
What was spooky about this dream was that it had elements of all problems that I wasn’t addressing, but problems I had. I had no idea about the Spanish assessment, no care about my math marks, and I still had a few unsorted problems with my room mate (who I am still very much living with, he woke me up). The only thing I don’t understand is why my phone was highlighted throughout the dream. I guess it could be some kind of omen or theme?
I just love the implication that all of these kids are going to hell.
I guess it is because they could not convince their parents well enough.

Ive been through a lot of things in my life that have led me to feel terrified by the idea of letting anyone truly know me. With everything, including my tumblr experience, I’ve broken myself into tiny pieces so that others may have an easier time liking/digesting who I am and be less likely to prod my insecurities.
I’m always still myself, just only part of it. On tumblr, I’m equal parts artist and writer and just general goofball, but I can’t be all together all the time. Because what if someone likes shit post me but not writer me or artist me or any other combination???
For my whole life, I’ve struggled with being a people pleaser, with always ALWAYS hoping to be liked more than I strove to be my whole self. It’s broken me down time and time again, and each time I’ve built myself back up stronger and less dependent on validation of others for my self worth.
Anyway the meaning of this is @shaehae @haelstromx and @sugarhoneybabyyy are all me. Whoops.
You didn't have to do this but I'm proud of you. I'm also proud to call you my friend. 💕 I'd give you a big hug but the whole Atlantic Ocean decided to get in the way. Tch.
I like all parts of you and I'd fight your insecurities if I could. Don't let them win. Be proud of yourself and don't forget that you have the right to feel good in your own skin, no matter what you or anyone else says or thinks.
Also, I need you to realise that it's not fair for you to feel the need to divide yourself into different versions of you because you're all of them. You, as a person, are whole, therefore, you shouldn't be afraid to be unapologetically all parts of you. Those little pieces are what makes you you. You paint, you draw, you write, you joke about things, you're funny, you're smart, you're beautiful, you're you. When you love someone (a friend, a s/o, a family member) you love them as a whole with all their qualities and flaws. You don't think "Hmmm. I really like this version/part of you but I don't like the other one", right? You think "I like you even though we have different tastes and despite your flaws". If someone can't "digest" all parts of you then...fuck them. They don't deserve you. Those who are worth keeping around are the ones who accept us for who we are. Be one of those people who accept you. Self-acceptance is important.

I swear these two posts speak so much too me. I find it hard to show all aspects of my identity to someone. That’s why I start to panic when people from different circles meet each other, I feel so exposed. I keep wondering please don’t point that out please don’t point that out.
And hell yeah, I want to be there for everyone. I find it so hard not being able to open up to anybody and just take all that burden to myself, and in an heroic irony I try my best to make sure everyone has their problems out.

I just have a question to everyone before I start. You guys ever feel the pressure of everyone (including yourself) expecting more of you but you never live up to it?
I have many experiences I can cite that support this constant nagging feeling of letting down. But what is universal is that I wasn’t able to complete my tasks. Whether it be basketball, where I could not manage to go and drive in and score, only chicken out in between and pass out, or it be programming, where I could not finish my project, only start it. I found that I would be able to start projects very well completing about 30% of the work within a few days, and this would give me a false satisfaction that I would be able to complete the project. But deep inside I knew that this would just be another a thing I would leave halfway and leave with the graveyard of other lost ventures, playing the guitar, playing the drums, starting to solve puzzles, enlisting in olympiads, etc. (ironically this post too)(to self: no wait don’t get distracted you can do it). I heard that the first step to fixing problems is recognising them, and therefore I am a bit glad that I managed to recognise this, but this problem still has persisted for the longest time. This causes me to dread the fact that I might never improve, and leaves me in a constant guilt phase where I feel I will always let others down as they expect me to learn from my mistakes.
For those of you experiencing something similar, here is what got me out of this mood:
List your problems down
Think about them
Rant or talk to someone you trust
Discuss what you want to change in your actions (you can do this with or without them but it helps if they are present)
Try to impose those changes (I am at this stage rn)

Hi fun fact, colors do have meaning and there is a legit thing called color theory. Red does has more positive connotations than negative like the @mintymaiden said. Red is associated with more love, lust, passion than blood and death just like the chart shows you but If you want, here’s a link for you to check it out yourself. I like that the presumption here is that “No One On Tumblr Has Heard of Color Theory, Let Me Explain in Depth” rather than simply acknowledging that the VISUAL EFFECTS of this particular color choice, applied in the manner it was, can still amount to “this is a hospital and that looks like blood”
like, color theory doesn’t exist in a vacuum. If your design of choice for Blood Red Paint is asymmetric splatters and sploches against the wall, or in this case, a snail trail on the hallway’s floor, an infographic won’t override the viewers’ instinct.
