I personally think adeline is a lesbian but im totally fine with people seeing her as bi, only if its like a genuine reading of her as such and not falling into people's weird obsession with thinking masc/strong woman = lesbian and "fem"/sweet and subdued woman = bi

call me terminally academia-brained but i do think a lot of the fun of character analysis is figuring out how to build a compelling argument for a particular reading using lines of evidence from canon as well as meta/intertextual support

and you could say that what i’m saying here is basically “a lot of the fun of doing character analysis is doing character analysis” but let’s be real a lot of fandom character analysis is pretty heavily vibes-based. and i think that’s where i really chafe up against the traditional thought-terminating fandom attitude of like, everyone’s opinions hold equal weight and any interrogation of that is inherently hostile. because i think it’s fascinating to dig into where others are coming from in terms of their views on characters or dynamics or whatever, especially when they differ significantly from more commonly expressed views, and part of that digging is asking people okay what parts of canon are you drawing from to support your opinion? what parts of canon are you disregarding or downplaying? how does this argument hold up in the light of how race, gender, class, ability, etc. operate both in the piece’s in-fiction and real world contexts?

There is absolutely personal bias to what im about to say but, i think it is very easy to interprete a modern time setting adeline as a complete normie but in my opinion when taken out of her strict religious lifestyle i think she would have weird esoteric tastes in things. I need her to be a bit of an intellectual about things in a very subdued way that doesnt immediately come off as such. In my beautiful mind she is not a cottagecore lesbian shes a lesbian that thinks up entire essays in her head about weird art shows shes been to

Hello this is kind of a weird post but i dont really know how else to ask this, are there any systems around here or generally people who are knowledgeable about heavy dissociation/dissociative disorders, that would be able/willing to help me out with some questions I have ? With regards to a really serious situation, I'm trying to find a way to help somebody in a very dire situation mentally and don't know enough deeply knowledgeable people in my circles/do not feel comfortable outright asking people about this. If anyone is in the mental state to do that it would be truly truly appreciated

Its always a little funny to me in an endearing way (?) when someone claims x soulsbrne boss is The Real Skill Check and you can tell its because they specifically struggled with that one and assumed everyone else must have
