she crawls closer, head tilted to one side, putting on an act that by this point, felt more like second nature—⠀& with needy?⠀doubly so.

“ don’t look at me like that, ”⠀feline, her head is by her wrists, back arched as her chin finds her way onto her lap.⠀“ gonna make your bee-eff-eff feel like she did something wrong by being, i dunno, your bee-eff-eff?⠀lame-o alert, needy. ”

her glare lingers for a bit too long under her glasses. that was always the problem with jennifer: she made everything feel absolutely ridiculous the second needy tried to take it seriously. it's in part why needy hates that smile; also in part why she can't entirely look away from it either. digits tighten around the edge of the pink blanket draped across her lap, shoulders drawing up defensively [almost like a cat] as jennifer sprawls closer and closer, invading personal space like it was hers. like needy belonged to her.

maybe, in some sick and twisted way, she did.

"god, you're such a freak." she insults, the phrase landing without any real heat behind it. "nobody's making you sleep on the floor. jesus, you're acting like i'm about to throw you outside with the raccoons." the blonde's voice comes out annoyed, exasperated, tired. she is after everything the past few weeks. [this is just another instance where she's feeling like she's being manipulated into believing everything is peachy.] "just, stop doing that." needy's hand lifts before she can think any better of it, pushing lightly against her best friend's forehead. behind her glasses, cerulean eyes narrow once more into a lighthearted glare.

"you know exactly what you're doing, jen."
