Since my work was removed from ao3 (yes I’m a little salty) I’m going to start it as a blog here. The banner is made up of my little fanart doodles and I will be adding more as and when I make them. Here I want to explore the lore (and anything else) of the band Ghost with my handwritten notes as I figure it all out for myself.

Title: Papa Emeritus III

Terzo took over from Secondo as the youngest brother and the last of the Emeritus bloodline ait the time. Terzo is only three months younger than Secondo, meaning he had a different mother (mother(s) of the older Emeritus brothers unknown) making him their half-brother. During this era is when Ghosts following grew exponentially. Papa III was the last to play smaller shows, as Rituals shifted into what we see today. He was also the first to have a more casual stage outfit as well as his robes. Terzo was the first (and currently only) Papa to win a Grammy for his song Cirice. He also brought us some of Ghosts most popular songs including; Square Hammer and Mummy Dust. His last Ritual ended with him being dragged off stage as the Clergy forced him out of his role as Papa. Terzo is flirtatious and confident on stage (though it is often thought that he is very insecure in his personal life). Terzo is often portrayed as kinder than his predecessors with his ghouls saying that he treats them well.

Title: Papa Emeritus II

Taking over from Primo, Secondo is the first and only Papa to appear unpainted. This era marks the start of the official Ghost YouTube channel. In the music video for Year Zero this is the first time we see the introduction of the ghoulettes, though they do not yet appear in the band. At the end of the uncensored Year Zero music video we see Papa II flash himself to the camera. Secondo retired as Papa (either voluntarily or forced by the Clergy) passing the title to his three month younger brother. Secondo is often seen as being harsh and grumpy, evidenced by interviews given by his ghouls.

Title: Papa Emeritus I

The first Papa we see for Ghost as we know it. Performed the first live shows in 2010. Rituals were mostly smaller during this era along with appearances at festivals to spread the message of the Clergy and popularise Ghost (to a new generation). When his time as Papa came to an end (either retired voluntarily or forced by the Clergy) he passed the title to his younger brother. Primo is often seen as very traditional in his approach to his music and Rituals. With only one outfit (we don't talk about the ill-thought-out period of the white stage costumes) and no appearances outside of shows.

Title: Papa Emeritus 0

He was the frontman of The Ghost Project in the 60's/70's. he was in a relationship with Sister Imperator until he fucked it up and cheated on her (what a fucking idiot) during a performance, see Chapter Eight: Kiss The Go-Goat on YouTube. he is the father of Copia and Perpetua but didn't know it. Papa Nihil died in 2020 though he still appears as a ghost as seen through the eyes of Copia and Sister Imperator. The world was not ready for Ghost (and the project ultimately went dormant). He is also taken out on stage and temporally brought back to play his saxophone solo in Miasma.

Family Tree

In Line With Current Lore

New developments have given us a new perspective on the lore. We have apparently had the wrong impression and it has recently been stated on multiple occasions that this is the new standing of the bloodline.

Past Lore

This is a well known and widely accepted interpretation of the bloodline. You will see this in much fan content and conversations. This is not an incorrect way of viewing the lore being that it was the undisputed understanding that stood for the better part of ten years.
