Time to be insane again. A huge piece about theories around Adrian's pov in s1, here we go.

Today I wanna talk about a big topic — Adrian's pov. It's obviously very important since he is our protagonist, most of the time we're following him, his thoughts, his point of view. There are moments from Enzo's pov and sometimes they even feel similar to ones i'm gonna discuss today. But Enzo is a whole other story. Even if the moments feels similar, they are mostly connected to other themes.
The arc, where Uno's pov feels especially important, is ep12-16. Arguably ep16 is somewhat a bridge between ep12-15 arc and ep17-22 arc but I usually include it in the desert arc. And tbh, it's not really important for today's conversation, it's just me being nerdy.
Ep14 is probably the heart of this whole arc and it consists almost fully of Adrian's pov and his imagination. This episode really highlights how much he loves Enzo's face and how Enzo unironically looks especially cute from his pov. I mean, there is a reason why everybody and their mother had or even still has pfp with Enzo's panels from this episode in particular. But the most intriguing thing is that we don't always see Enzo's face in Adrian's imagination. And that feels actually important with the context of Adrian absolutely adoring this face.
Actually the first time we see Adrian thinking about Enzo in black and white (and don't worry, I will come to black and white theory later) is back in ep9, and it's also the moment without Enzo's face. I have a feeling it might be so because Adrian is trying to concentrate on work in that moment, he is thinking about how he got a pass to Consortium.
The next episode i'm gonna highlight is ep12, the start of the desert arc. There are three important moments but one of them will be relevant for later theory. So let's continue concentrate on black and white shots first. Both of them in this ep are with Enzo's face — one where Adrian holds Enzo's face in his hands and the other with "I need you, Connector" line. I feel like Adrian doesn't exactly think about the work in that moment. We can argue about the second one, but the first one is him remembering Enzo's face before the kiss and after that he says how he wishes to see Enzo crying. It's not about work, it's about his personal complicated feelings.

As I said ep14 is probably the heart of the desert arc, it contains so many shots of Enzo from Adrian's pov — and all of them are so damn beautiful. But what is relevant for the theory which i'm trying to explain now are black and white shots with Adrian imagining bj by Enzo. And these are very interesting. Adrian states very clearly that he is using Enzo's face as "a material" for jerking off, he is thinking about him giving him bj… but there is no Enzo's face in these shots from his imagination. We see real Enzo's face from his pov, but we don't see face of Enzo from Adrian's imagination.
It's possible I missed something but I'm pretty sure these three eps were the first ones with Adrian having Enzo in his mind in black and white. And all of them highlighted three important points.
Adrian thinking about Enzo without his face, when he is really concentrating on work.
Adrian thinking about Enzo with his face when he is relatively relaxed, thinks about some actual physical contacts that happened between them and also allows himself to think about Enzo's beauty.
Adrian thinking about Enzo without his face again when he just imagines potential contacts.
And I would say pretty much all episodes before the last arc of the season continues this trend. Ep15 — Adrian is thinking about Enzo with his face when he remembers their kiss and without face when he thinks about bj that never happened. Ep18 — Adrian remembers his first impression of Enzo with his face and then have this fantasy about fucking him without face. Ep19 — another fantasy without face. Ep22 — remembering the night with Enzo's face since this time it's about actual contacts that happened.
Now, we all know what happened in ep17-22 arc, that's basically our collective trauma. And you won't like how it sounds but i believe that this arc actually "broke" this whole "faceless Enzo — Enzo with face" mechanism of Adrian. And I think it actually symbolises the change inside him, the change of his feelings for Enzo.
And when we think about it, the whole arc of ep23-28 is extremely interesting even just by looking at the black and white shots from Uno's mind. It all starts in ep23 and I've actually already talked about this one before.
But now, while writing this whole theory, I'm starting to see new perspective of these faceless shots. The thing is — these faceless shots are actually different from the ones that were mentioned before. Without the huge sign we would actually see Enzo's face. The shots before were done so that Enzo's face was not in the shot at all. And I think that's a first big indicator of changes inside Adrian — he almost thought about Enzo's face when he should've concentrated on work.
And now we jump to ep27 and ep28. Ep28 actually is going to get his own section in this thread, this episode is way too special. For now let's just look at the black and white shots, because they happen quite similar in these episodes. Adrian starts thinking about Enzo without his face but then he sees his face in his imagination. And in both of these episodes these black and white shots feel like Adrian losing control of his own mind and him not exactly seeing the difference between the work and his relationships with Enzo — and I feel it's because these relationships are just way too much by this point. And I'm still not exactly on board with this one but there is a theory that we've already seen Uno's badum and it was exactly in ep17-22 arc which kinda broke this whole "faceless Enzo — Enzo with face" thing. And these two theories really work good together. If Adrian already had his badum, it makes total sense that we don't exactly see him controlling his own mind in ep23-28 arc the way it was before.
All of the shots which I discussed in this whole "faceless — with face" theory were black and white. And that's actually another theory about Adrian's pov — him choosing to think about Enzo in black and white.
Back in ep4 we get a scene with Adrian's first impression of Enzo and him thinking:
He’d look good in black and white. In fact, it’s as if he walked straight out of an old-time movie. A classic.
And this might sound like a reach but him thinking about Enzo mostly in black and white actually feels like an intemtional choice. Here is the thing. We didn’t have many Adrian's pov moments in RC but there were some. And one of them is in RC ep44 where he remembers the moment he fell in love with Candy. And this flashback is not in black and white. Another point that I would like to highlight is the moment from BA ep25 when Adrian thinks about Via. It's not in black and white, it's in yellow-ish sepia like colors which actually aligns with the theory that black and white is reserved for Enzo in Adrian's mind.
One thing that feels important to mention — in the shot where Adrian initially thinks about black and white movies Enzo's eyes are closed. But when he remembers this moment in ep18, Enzo's eyes are opened. and if we go back to both "faceless — face" theory and Adrian's badum theory, that's pretty much the most important episode for both of them. So I feel like this is an important observation.
There is an elephant in the room with black and white thory. But before that I actually wanna mention Enzo's pov. Because here is one more interesting thing: he also thinks about Adrian in black and white. Once again, Enzo is a whole other story. But I really wanted to bring here this extremely cool thought.
Ok, elephant in the room — ep28 doesn't exactly work with black and white theory. Adrian thinks pretty much about everything in black and white, including his night with Via. One possible explanation is very similar to the one from "faceless — face" theory. Adrian lost control of his own mind. But I actually have another theory about this episode in particular: it's not a coincidence that this chapter feels like a movie. We need to always remember movie theme in this manhwa — first of all, spy film's foreshadowings, second of all, Enzo is a cinephile. Both were especially relevant in this theory.
And I have one really strong argument about this episode being as the whole movie. And this argument is exactly in Adrian's imagination — it's the moment when he remembers Enzo's face during "can I start torturing you" scene from ep23. The thing is — the moment from ep28 is exact copy of the moment from ep23 but in black and white. And yes, it actually never happened before. All of the black and white shots that I've discussed today were never exact copies even when it was a memory. And it's a great work from Hanse-nim because yeah, that's how human's brain works, we don't remember any event the same way all the time. This one shot feels in ep28 feels really intentional. And it works perfectly for the whole feeling of film nature of this episode. Because yeah, it's possible in movies to see flashbacks to exact shots unlike in real life. Ep28 really deserves its own analysis, I can't exactly explain now why it was necessary to make this chapter feeling like a movie.
Up until this point I discussed only black and white shots. But there were a couple of shots in Adrian's imagination in colors. And these shots, i believe, have one theme attached to them. And this theme is best shown in ep12, yes, coming back to that one moment, which i haven't described yet. Adrian imagines Enzo on the throne. I actually had this mandela effect type of thing when i was sure that Enzo was also in crown — but no, only the throne. The other episode with Adrian imagining Enzo in colors is ep24. Firstly, when he thinks how he is gonna be near Enzo for now we have a shot which really reminds me of the one from ep10 when Adrian and Enzo were coming to Consortium together. And what I feel is extremely important in this parallel — in that moment in ep10 Adrian had a thought "the perfect space to rule from as he sees fit". And I think you already see what i'm trying to say — the rare shots of Enzo in colors in Adrian's mind are closely associated with the royal theme.
And the last one of these colored shots is kinda curious — it happens in the same ep24 and it's Adrian throwing Enzo (in his imagination). So, throwing him off the throne? Btw, I'm not sure how I myself can interpret the fact that the shots with royal theme attached to them are the ones in colors in Adrian's mind. But it's definitely interesting — especially since this theme is quite important to them.

It's finally day of BA s2! And I want to try playing a bit of a guessing game — here are my nine predictions for s2 and how I can justify them.
1 - Adrian's badum will happen in s2.
I don't think I need to justify this one, it's pretty much just logical. I still believe it's going to be quite hard for him to accept, we have reasons to assume he is going to be devastated with this thought. But I still think it will be season of him falling for Enzo for real.
2 - We'll see Adrian's backstory and will learn exact significance of his full real name.
Here I actually have a couple of justifications. First of all, if we continue parallels to RC, RC s2 was the one where we learned the most about Shi-hyeon's backstory. Secondly, Adrian is still the only character out of four main characters of RC+BA universe who we haven't seen as a child in canon. However! Hanse-nim was doing quite a lot of arts of little Adrian right before s2. I feel like this might be a sign that she thinks about little Adrian quite a lot. And lastly, I just think it's about time we'll learn why Adrian's name is so damn hidden. (And don't forget to ignore famous mess of a BA summary which kinda destroyed this mystery — although we still have to learn the significance. I feel like Adrian's family can end up being tied to big Consortium plot somehow.)
3 - Candy and third SS-agent from Vulture will either appear or will be heavily mentioned. But it can be just one of them.
This is another thing where I look at Hanse-nim's twitter and don't believe in coincidences. I was always sure that Candy will appear in BA, it just makes so much sense from storytelling perspective. But lady casually mentioning third person makes me think that we'll probably see all three SS-agents together. It may happen in s3 but first seeds will probably still appear in s2.
4 - At some point events of s2 might go to Europe.
First justification for this is in second point — I mean, we probably should go at least to Britain for Adrian's past. Switzerland was also mentioned in s1 as hiding spot for Vulture, it also can be a sign for events going to Europe.
5 - I feel like it's going to be "us against the world" story, but if there is a "big bad", they should appear in s2.
It was really difficult to make a title for this point so I kinda ended up explaining all in that sentence. I can't be sure about the direction of the story, I'm just a girl doing silly analyses. But I feel like there is a big possibility of this story not having proper villain outside of Enzo. And Enzo is not just a villain, he is this interesting love interest and antagonist at the same time type of character, which we can also see in IWTV for example (sorry, had to mention it, my bestie is obsessed with IWTV). It can continue as a story of Enzo trying to find his way out without someone in particular to oppose with Adrian eventually coming to his side. However, we might see "big bad". And if that's the case, it should happen in s2 — it's another parallel to RC and another quite logical thing.
6 - We'll see where and how Enzo lives.
It's self-explanatory, I feel it's a logical next step for Enzo's growing feelings — to start opening up more even in the most straightforward ways like showing his home.
7 - We'll learn that real Connector is alive.
It's the wildest guess on this list, this one might actually never happen. But I feel like the way story keeps going back to Connector is highly suspicious. We objectively don't even know if real Connector is actually dead, the whole explanation Shadow gave doesn't give us definitive answer since Shadow himself can't be sure that person was actually Connector. I think I can see potential this storyline might bring, but firstly I need to see if it actually happens at all which I'm not that sure about.
8 - Adrian initially will reject Enzo's feelings.
I talked about this point a lot. I feel it's the most logical progression and the realest way for Adrian to have any sort of revenge. And we can also bring back RC parallels thing while we're at it, the whole bridge breakup happened in RC s2.
9 - The end of s2 can be what film foreshadowed.
It's time to remind you once again that end of s1 is not what film foreshadowed. In the film woman is a spy, so it should be Adrian pointing gun at Enzo, not the other way around. And it's really significant because from RC we have this thing of Adrian not being able to point gun at the person he loves. And I feel like it's the most obvious choice for cliffhanger at the end of s2. Enzo saying some stuff similar to what man in the film was saying would make sense after rejection which I also predicted for s2 in previous point. And it also can beautifully parallel the end of s1.
But I guess it's a bit too early to talk about the end of s2.
