PRINCE CHARMING IN EVERY EPISODE 2.09, Queen of Hearts
Hello there.
Thank you for this wonderful blog . There is so much to learn here and I do appreciate your efforts in helping people . Thank you .
I am an INTP and I believe in am stuck in Ti Si loop , I genuinely want to start focusing my Ne cognitive functions but I am not sure how .
I was thinking. Could I just start the day journaling or writing an action plan about doing something different , or think of a problem and brainstorm ways to solve it or finds new ways of doing something every day.
Like i am not sure how to actualize my Ne cognitive function ? Could I start the day with an Ne question, like what would I do today that is different and or what if? and then generate an action .
I am not sure if this is going to be effective for me as in if I do Ne activities, would that be just doing things that are not important just because I have to do them or I may end up generating activities to avoid doing what is important or uncomfortable.
Ne as a dominant function is comfortable working instantly with something that catches its interest, theorizing about it, and going with it, so if you want to strengthen your own Ne, it’s less about deliberate planning to engage with it and more being willing and able to interact with a possibility or theory when it happens to you. An ENP writer, for example, can be reading or watching something unconnected to their usual writing, and still come up with an idea; they are watching a space movie and get an idea about an underwater kingdom in ancient times. Because Ne is cross-contextual; it connects things that would not occur to other people.
In your case, if you feel you are locked too much into Si, I would deliberately seek out things that contradict your own thinking and experiences and rather than shooting them down with Ti (that’s not fully logical) or Si (that’s not how it happened to me) choose to engage fully with them and explore them. Actively seek out novel ideas, ideas that contradict your beliefs, listen to opposite arguments just to weigh them rather than argue against them, and open yourself up to allowing yourself to pivot. If something is not working, instead of doubling down on it, ask, “What if I did the total opposite here?” What if you… went in another direction with your theory, or tried something wholly unexpected in an innovation, or merged two characters into one personality, or accepted that aliens might exist, in order to think about what they might be like?
I just watched Project Hail Mary over the weekend, and he is an INTP at first locked into Ti/Si. Doesn’t want to leave earth, to explore, to do anything but teach kids, and is forced to go into space, where he truly blooms and becomes a better person, because he decides to open up his mind and imagination and discovers … something unexpected. Choose the unexpected. Choose to be open to new possibilities. When life hands you something, engage with it.
You CAN do what you suggested, and make deliberate decisions daily that take you in new directions, but it’s more about learning to trust your Ne and follow it. Abandon your plan, and go down the rabbit hole. Start researching how the Nephilium in the Old Testament and the Greek demi-gods might be the same creatures and see where it leads. Or go to YouTube and pick something totally random, that you would not normally be interested in, to watch and learn about, and see what ideas that sparks within you. Watch a movie, pause it halfway, and ask, “How could this have been done different?” Exercise it. Give it brain food (data). When you reach a conclusion, challenge your own thinking and ask, “Is there another explanation here?” and think about what that might be, that will train up TiNe to not dismiss things too quickly.
Good luck!
thinking of OUAT again but specifically thinking about how interesting the magic system in OUAT was and how bc it was an ABC drama it was never actually explored to its full potential
like the idea that the first ever incarnation of Any Magic resulted from Merlin drinking from the Holy Grail, and it just so happened to be light magic bc Merlin was a fundamentally good person. And that’s all that there was! for hundreds of years! And then dark magic was literally created because Merlin’s lover craved immortality and vengeance and betrayed him for it! And how light magic spread throughout their world naturally but dark magic was confined to one person! And how light magic is something inherent that you’re born with the ability to do while dark magic has to be consciously learned!
Not to even mention the fairies and their magic system and their seeming dependence on fairy dust (which is a mineral found underground, not something natural to them!) Or to mention the mermaids and their varying levels of civilization and humanity (the mermaids in neverland appear to be more mystical and inhuman, while the fairytale mermaids such as Ursula and Ariel seem to be very close to human)
Or the portal system, and how nearly all of the realms except for our own are seemingly connected and easily traversable by multiple means. Magic beans operate on willpower and wishes but only work once, while the hat doesn’t really need to do anything at all except grow but seems to operate on a finite loop of power. And how the sea apparently connects every realm (including our own) but the sky only leads to neverland. Not to mention that storms carrying portals aren’t all that uncommon, and it seems that any average object (e.g. the silver slippers) can become a portal if it’s imbedded with enough magic.
Or how magic literally changes a person’s appearance. In the case of dark magic it often makes you green or scaly or more animal looking, while with light magic it can freeze you in time entirely, keeping you young forever.
And don’t even get me started on how the different types of magic are used. How dark magic is more refined because it’s a practiced art where certain spells achieve certain things, while because light magic is an inherent skill it’s often a shapeless, aimless blast of energy. How even with training light magic appears to be more limited than dark magic, despite the fact that it’s more powerful.
And ripping out hearts??? That the staple move of dark magic was literally to take someone’s heart from them and either control it or crush it??? That the embodiment of evil was literally just someone else holding your heart in their hands, and you have no clue what they plan to do with it??
And then on the opposite side of it there was true love’s kiss?? That the most powerful, pure type of magic was sharing a heart instead of taking one?? That displays of love were literally the most powerful things to exist??
Basically I wish they would have locked in on the magic system bc I was SO cool.
this screencap is so funny to me bc without context it looks like snow has fallen asleep, charming is admiring her and regina is just in the back like “someone pls save me for the love of god”

Snow & Charming
‘ You Found Me ‘
‘ did you ever doubt I would ‘
How tf am I supposed to explain to someone who hasn’t watched Once Upon A Time that Peter Pan is Rumplestilskin’s father, who’s wife left him for Captain Hook, who married the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming, who’s son is also the grandson of Rumplestilskin because his son banged her and left her in prison because Pinocchio told him to
And that all of this actually makes sense
Gosh, I loved this show when it first aired. And I love this show now. As chaotic as it is, it still feels less crazy than real life sometimes. The bonds in the show endure lifetimes across timelines, curses, and alternate realities.
I miss tv in the 2010s every day. You could put anything on air and get a 22 episode order and a five season run. Once Upon a Time was on and it basically spit in your face and told you that Olaf the snowman was Emma's second great uncle twice removed and you just accepted it. Golden age of the silver screen
television peaked with Once Upon a Time, like I can watch Anna from Frozen try to convince Snow White's Prince Charming to fight evil Warlord Little Bo Beep and he's like 'You don't know what you're talking about Anna from Frozen, my dad died when I was six because he was an alcoholic' and be like that's not even the most insane moment of this episode
