Hey you!

Good news, Desca and me finally were able to meet up and start filming again! That means we are continuing the CMV tier, with KageHina this month!

Follow our boys on an emotional journey as Hinata leaves for Brazil for two years. Happy memories, some angst and a healthy dose of spice are coming right up!

Monday we’ll start shooting for next month, which is going to be DabiHawks! Next month will also include the ShinKami CMV you guys have been waiting for!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Christmas is a time of love, harmony and fun! So this year I wanted to do something special! Making of Johanna

Hi lovelies! As many of you know I have been working on Johanna from Diablo 3 and Heroes of the storm! It was one of the most challenging but fun projects I have done so far and I would like to share how I made her with all of you so lets get into it!

So to start off I got my materials!

- 1cm EVA DuraFoam

- 6mm EVA DuraFoam

- FoamClay

- Contact glue

- QuickSpray

Starting at the beginning

First off I started with manually drawing out the patterns for the armour. I started with the neck piece, the hip armour and the shoulder pieces.

Once I had those I drew them out onto the 1cm thick Foam and cut them out. (little tip:you can use an electric jigsaw to cut through the foam, but it'll also work with a stanly knife). Once the pieces were cut out, I dremeled them to make the edges smooth and heated them with a heat gun to get them into the right shapes. Then I glued the pieces together using contact glue!

From there on I used Foam clay to add in all the details! Foamclay is a product that is very much like Clay, but when it cures it will have the same structure as foam. It’s ideal for making details, but also to fill up seams! When using foamClay you can use water to slow down the curing process in case you still need to smooth things down etc. When having used the foamclay to detail the base of the pieces it looked like this.

After having done this I repeated the same process on all the other armor pieces! So drawing out patterns:

and of course detailing the whole armor. Below you can see some pieces detailed and some not to see the difference it makes!

When everything is detailed it’s time to prime the whole thing. Ive tried many different methods but for me personally I found the best way to be with QuickSpray.

This is a plastic kind of coating which seals the foam but keeps it flexible.  then it looks like this:

After having primed the whole thing it is time to paint! In order to paint the whole thing I used an airbrush and two different colours. Light gray and Black. When mixing these the color becomes a little darker gray with a strange blue hint which was exactly the color of Johanna her armor! Then for the gold I used the Metallic Gold paint from Amsterdam.

In order to shadow the armour I used the airbrush again and black paint. Then painted along the details to give the armour depth. To shadow the golden parts I used black acrylic paint and smudged it out. Then finally I battle damaged the whole armor. But this is easier shown on the shield. What I did for that was damage the whole armor with a Dremel as if it were hit. Then I used the Metallic silver paint from Amsterdam and dry brushed the borders so it looks damaged. Next I used different kinds of red paint to create the effect of blood spatters in battle. Lastly I covered the whole costume with varnish to seal the paint and cover it.

Last but not least its time to assemble the whole thing! put on the armour and rock that thing! And of course take some good pictures! These pictures were taken by Kevin Jeukens!
