My first time painting miniatures. There's room for improvement but it was fun.
This is my D&D character, Eurynome.
Another doodle from my journal.
I'm suffering from a new unhealthy preoccupation with experimental banner doodles.
I've been trying to keep a journal. Mostly this was just an excuse to do a ribbon banner.
A little bird on a twig. I had done everything but the sanding on this a week ago but just got around to the final finish today.
I just finished my zebra. The dark stripes are one continuous piece, the light stripes I cut more according to the wood grain.
Starting a zebra.
Mountain view that I based loosely on an Edo period print and a picture I took in Utah a couple of weeks ago.
I have been putting circles in the background for all of the drawers for continuity. I'm afraid the circle here kind of makes it look like this is an octopus being tossed through the air in front of the moon. Flying octopus! Otherwise I am pleased with this one.
I got new blades half way through doing this piece and the gaps and indents improved. The idea was backlit leave. I have been looking at Edo period prints and I am drawn to the foreground details that hang across the composition. Not quite bold enough yet to make a whole landscape and then cut through it to obscure it with a branch but eventually I will get there.
Marquetry octopus in progress.
I made a lazy bear. I had been putting a circle in the background of all of the drawer fronts but I forgot on this guy. Oh, well.
My dog Mickey died recently at a ripe old age of 17. This is a portrait of him based on a photo last year. I miss my little man.
