Deputy Jordan Parrish is a...?
1) Heron (first mentioned by kalialiaa)
Heron is an Egyptian God thought to have been the beginning of the phoenix mythology. He guides the dead to the underworld, yet when he remembers doing this, he thinks it is a dream. The burned bodies at the Nemeton could have been bodies form the Hale fire.
2) Phoenix (many peoples theories).
A phoenix is reborn when it dies as something else. Jordan Parrish was Isaac’s brother, when he died in combat he became Jordan. He has no memory of this. He did not ‘die’ in the car fire because he is impervious to fire.
3) Dullahan (made by orangealienbooty)
Irish grim reaper. Often pairs with a Banshee to find the people that are going to die (would explain the connection between Lydia and Parrish). The Dullahan would chase down people who were going to die and call out their name, and they would perish. The horse of the Dullahan would have flames for eyes (explaining Parrish’s orange eyes). The Dullahan is dead, so in this theory he could be impervious to flames and he could still be Isaac’s brother.
4) Weresalamander / salamander (made by Keertana Sastry)
A salamander is a mythological creature with cold blood that can survive heat and fire. They are noble and loyal.
Parrish may be a dragon because he has orange eyes and seems immune to heat/fire. This theory does not have much evidence but it would be cool if suddenly Parrish started shooting fire form his mouth.
Parrish may be a fire kitsune, and be able to control fire in the same way Kira can control electricity and lightning.
The writers of teen wolf may have invented a new creature for Parrish to be.
8) Obsidian man (sara steinfeld)
Creatures formed form lava, immune form fire, that have healing abilities and increased strength and stamina.
9) Barghest (starmapleleaf)
Barghests are black dogs with fiery eyes (Parrish has fiery eyes) with huge claws and teeth that only appear at night. It cannot be harmed by fire (like Parrish). The Barghest often appears before someone dies or after someone dies. Also called a Hellhound, Barghest is a guard of hell which connects to Parrish being a sheriff.
A hybrid. Usually in teen wolf, people are one thing or another. We haven’t really seen any hybrids. It is possible Parrish is a phoenix and a Dullahan. He may be a salamander that is also part hell hound. Was he born, bitten or created?
Likelihood: At this point in the series (5x05) it is ‘obvious’ that Parrish is a phoenix which makes me think he definitely is not one. I am leaning towards Dullahan as we know the teen wolf writers like to use obscure creatures that people couldn’t guess so easily.
