LoadedNewsletter presents Dance Down the Town
In the nitty gritty of L.A.’s downtown streets, a brave group of strutting skaters mash through the chaos of traffic, disgruntled pedestrians, and the occasional slime patch of who-knows-what. Ari, Lotfi, Laurent, Adam, and Alberto bring you their own personal styles of the discipline commonly known as “Foot-Twerking” (aka Dancing). With the world against them, they managed to come out of the concrete jungle relatively unharmed, though their clothes will never smell the same again.
Fancy feet, taking steez to a whole new level.
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
2 Corinthians 12:9
Me and my buddy's setup
God has this habit of allowing me to reach my wits end, letting my head convince me that this one thing is enough to make my world fall apart and my foundations crumble, letting me weep on my bedroom floor and cry to Him that everything is wrong and i’m losing it, and then sorting the whole thing out in the quietest, loveliest way possible. Always exactly what I needed, always exactly as He’d planned it. He shows me that my head was wrong and everything is alright, and then whispers “My child, when are you going to trust me?”
For days when the enemy is trying to slither his way in, remember to continue: - praying (Don’t ever stop talking to God, love. Tell Him everything. And if you’re feeling empty and like you have no words, know that it’s okay to sit in silence with Him and know that it’s okay to repeat Help me over and over and over.) - praising Him (Put on some Praise & Worship music and sing through the tears because God is still good in the storm.) - reading/studying His Word (Open your Bible, open your Bible, open your Bible. You want to hear God’s voice? Open your Bible. Open your heart. Read your Bible. Study your Bible. God is going to give you exactly what you need. You know this from experience.) - leaning on others (You cannot, cannot carry all of this on your own. Reach out. Talk to someone. Hug someone. Love someone.)
God fully understands you and your situation. The reason why people are not understanding you or giving you the answer you need is because God wants you to seek Him in the situation and seek Him for the answers to your questions. His learning you and training you to hear Him and lean on Him and not other people. Yes God can use people to answer your questions at times He does. But it’s more important to seek Him above all things first. Go to Him first not people.
