Camerupt's Temper
Griselle x reader (gn)
Summary: coming up to the Nouveau truck, you notice a certain pokemon that just so happens to reminds you of your girlfriend.
———
As you approached the Café Nouveau truck in the quickly waning evening sunlight, you spotted all the normal people and pokemon around the café, and an extra one?
You saw Grisham inside the truck, Charizard beside it, Griselle on the opposite side, and a... Camerupt next to her?
It took you a minute to remember that she even had a Camerupt. It was sitting next to her almost like some kind of dog pokemon would, though it was much larger than any kind of dog pokemon would be. It had an almost comically mad expression on its face, and steam escaped in small, angry, bursts from its large nostrils. It kind of reminded you of Griselle herself, in a way. You fought back a laugh at the sight as you approached.
"Why are you smiling so much? What's so funny?" Griselle questioned, suspicious of your large grin that usually meant trouble.
"Can't I just be happy to see you? I came all the way over here to pick you up, and I'm happy to see you," you replied with faux-offense.
"Well, for one, you're early, and two, you usually only have that smile when you've done something," she explained with her arms crossed impatiently, waiting for you to confess to whatever stupid thing you've gone and gotten yourself into now. Grisham didn't say anything, but you swear you could hear him make a vague noise of agreement.
"Okay, I came early on purpose 'cuz I was really craving a croissant... and also maybe some Roserade tea..." you admitted to her sheepishly. "But I'm laughing at the fact your Camerupt is pouting like a big, angry puppy," you said, unable to contain your laughter at the sight anymore.
"Oh, her? She's mad because I said I wouldn't give her second dinner," Griselle explained, giving her Camerupt a side-eye as she did.
"She's pouting?" you asked as you continued to crack up.
"Yea, and it's very funny until she starts using earthquake about it..." Griselle said more towards her pokemon than you, in a scolding tone. Camerupt let out an especially large huff at that.
"She looks like you when you're mad. Just as cute, too..." you teased with a grin. Your comment seemed to make Grisham choke on absolutely nothing, a strangled noise escaping him. Maybe he was just trying not to laugh himself.
Griselle did not appreciate the comparison as much as you did. Nor did she like being called 'cute'. She was a grown woman, not a baby pokemon, she did not need to be called cute. You knew both of those things, and she knew it was one of your favorite things to tease her about.
"See? Just like that! You look... just... like her..." You observed, confident at first, before quickly realizing her growing ire was not in fact, for demonstration...
A quiet laugh escaped Grisham as he looked over at the scene. The comparison was rather striking. And perhaps just a little funny. At least until Griselle turned on him instead.
"Are you seriously LAUGHING over there?! This is NOT funny, Gris!" Griselle snapped at her colleague who was struggling to contain his entertainment at situation.
"O-of course not," Grisham denied, though his tone and the way he was still concealing a smile beneath his hand said otherwise. You laughed akwardly as you backed away from Griselle slowly, closer to Grisham.
"Perhaps you should go, now..." Grisham advised quietly, handing you your drink and pastry.
"Good idea, I'll uh- I'll go home and start dinner, okay?" You momentarily set down your things to give Griselle a hug, a very awkward and tentative one at that, "Okay, bye, love you..." You gave her one last very quick peck on the cheek, grabbed your things, and ran off as fast as you could without tripping.
And at the mention of dinner again, Camerupt nudged Griselle in the back with her snout.
"Pout all you want, you are still NOT getting second dinner!"

So, is this just a thing in Lumiose? Is it just normal for a woman to try and make me her sub if I lose to her? Is that why none of the other characters really address Lebanne and Jacinthe's whole thing?
And, most importantly...
I've got a singular Venipede, fresh from Wild Zone 5. Come fight me, Mable.
My friends!! Happy Zani release day!!! I am excited to post my one-shot i wrote when I was at work lol. Please enjoy!
Please note that I tried to use gender neutral terms, but reader does present as feminine.
Zani x Reader
She was leaning against the balcony railing, white hair glowing like a halo under the bright night. She sighs, exhaustion quickly taking hold of her muscles as she rifles into her suit pocket and produces a cigarette. She thinks to herself, she should really stop smoking, as she lights the tip and inhales deeply. The wind picks up around the building, grabbing the tendrils of smoke and curling it around the horns that frame her head. The city below glows with life, the gentle hum of traffic soothing her racing mind. She falls into an almost meditative state, until the balcony door creaks open.
She pays no mind to the gentle click of the door closing as someone walks to the other side. Their heels click lightly on the smooth tile as they cross over to the other side of the patio. An unspoken acknowledgment occurs, the kind that happens without a beat. Two working people attempting to take a load off after the workday. The soft sound of a hand rifling through a leather purse disrupts the static of a busy city, and the person procures another tightly rolled cigarette. They place it gently between their lips, and rifles some more, in search of something. She notices this, smiling lightly to herself as she takes another drag to calm the sudden nerves that rise up in her throat. The horned woman stands tall, putting a hand into her coat pocket, and pulls out a lighter.
The person turns to face the woman, dread in their face. The white haired angel flicks open the lid, exposing the interior. “Need a light?” she flicks the striker, flame erupting out of the metal casing, illuminating their stark features. “Please.” They lean forward and let the flame lick the tip of the tobacco, puffing a couple times to then lean back slightly and take a deep drag. They grab the cigarette into their neatly manicured fingers, pulling it away from their face as they exhale loudly. “Thank you…?” She clicks the lighter closed and resumes its position in her pocket. “Zani.” They smile. “Thank you, Zani. Saving my life.” They raise the cigarettes as a cheers and continue to inhale, each hit longer than the last.
They both look down into the city, watching the lights dance as the people below move along their busy lives. A sense of calm falls over the two. Zani still stands tall, as they lean into the railing, shifting their weight from one foot to the other. She watches carefully. They flick the ash over the side, and bring the cigarette back to their lips. Zani does the same, inhaling lighter than usual, and exhales quickly. “And you are…?” They exhale what is left of their smoky breath, and state their name. They then stand up, and turn to lean with their back against the railing. They reach out their hand. “Nice to meet you.”
Zani grabs their hand into theirs light but firm, and draws a single shake. "The pleasure is mine."
They take one last pull, then lean up off of the railing, snuffing their still smoldering cigarette out on the cool metal with a quiet hiss, and throw the remaining filter into a nearby trashcan. “See you.” Zani nods, nursing the stick between her lips. They leave, the clicking of their shoes echoing across the tile. She turns back to the distraction of the city, and listens to the door opening with a creak, and shut with a gentle click.
