Self Portrait • Sustain: to suffer something unpleasant, but also to strengthen physically or mentally.

I fear judgement, rejection, and being misunderstood. I want to understand this fear, shine a light on it. I hope understanding this fear gives the power to heal whatever that fear is trying to protect. If there ever was a time to heal... So, with wide open vulnerability I share this experience, just this one little perspective but to me it feels like everything 🖤

Some thoughts surrounding the past few weeks has brought about some of the symbolisms in this portrait and gave me comfort in this project of “showing ourselves”.

The oxygen mask to represent protection of our life force • On one hand are the attachments or shackles our society has with materialism/consumerism, in the other hand a longing to reconnect with nature • An uncovered/exposed heart is vulnerable and uncomfortable but necessary in our growth.

This has been a healing project to focus on during this time and I am excited to be a part of an amazing collection of womxn I admire.
