She perked her brows a little at his words, crossing her arms over her own chest as if mirroring his stance. Perhaps there was something of the old Evelyn left in her and that was what was keeping her from just killing him to get him out of her way. Damon had never hurt her, never used her. Damon was the one who would hold her at night. That meant something to her. Or it use to. Maybe it was the memory of her affection that kept her from hurting him. “She’s gone, Damon,” the blonde stepped forward again until there was only about a foot between them, “In fact, she’s as good as dead at this point. Klaus isn’t going to let me live and Elijah promised to kill me before Klaus had to. You should just make your peace with it.”
“Yeah I’m gonna stop you right there,” the vampire stepped forwards with a gentle sigh, “I’ve seen this all before, I’ve been around for a while and I know you’re not gone forever. Even when a vampire turns off their humanity, they’re not gone forever. You can’t just delete a soul.” Damon was clutching at nothing, just trying to buy himself time until someone stronger came along in case she decided she was done with him too and snap his neck. “See the thing is, I don’t particularly care what they have to say and I don’t particularly care about their stupid rules because you’re my best friend and you’re not going to die so just make peace with that. They can’t punish you for being taken over by a bitter and crazy half breed of a brother.”
