I've been working with my college orgmate, Stelle, for some time now on her film production with Austin.

December last year, she asked me if I was willing to make their film's dossier which will be submitted in an international film fest. I honestly didn't know what a dossier was, but after she explained it to me, I was very excited to do it.

Fast forward to June, I saw her tag me in her FB status saying that their film got in the 2021 Locarno Open Doors Lab Program. I know all I did was just put together their work creatively, but a part of me was so proud of myself because I never thought my work would reach that far. Moreover, Stelle mentioned how their colleagues said that their dossier stood out among the submissions.

My full-time work now may not be as creative as this, but taking part in projects like these once in a while and trying to challenge my creativity surely excites me.

Online magazine for Psych 101 WFU-1 under Ma'am Danielle Marie Parreño

For our final Psychology 101 project, we were grouped and tasked to come up with a magazine containing articles that show the application of the concepts that we have learned in class. This includes movie and book reviews, playlist recommendations, a critique on a contemporary study, tips on how to handle mental distress, and our personal reflections after taking the elective.

My last job as a graduating member of UP Radio Circle was create internal materials for the elections of the Executive Committee of the organization for AY 2020-2021. 

I used black and white to symbolize the transparency that we wish to embody for the activity, then the red accents since that is one of the official colors of the organization. I also used photos of the members during the organization’s previous events. Some of them are previous members of the executive committee, as well as nominees during that time.

The colorful photo above is the official announcement of the new Executive Committee posted on UP Radio Circle’s Facebook page. This was inspired by the 2nd Semester AY 2019-2020 theme of the application process of the organization.

Around July, there were multiple all-girls school sharing their insights on issues of sexual harassment of teachers to elementary and high school students. Being an alumna, we were also alarmed by this, so alumna from different batches came together to come up with a statement asking our school administrators to investigate on the issues. 

To make our calls gather more attention, we created our own Facebook and Twitter pages so that other members of the alumna community can share the statements released. You can access the pages by clicking the links above.

With that, as part of the creatives team, I helped in coming up with the Facebook and Twitter cover photos. Logo and illustrations were created by other artists.

I have been part of UP Radio Circle’s Elevate organizing team since 2017, and for its 8th year, I was officially one of the assigned Creatives officers for the event. 

Aside from creating graphic materials released prior to the event, I also helped in taking the official photos during the event. Documentation can be found here.

Part of UP CMC ISA’s recruitment team initiative was to share stories of alumni who were able to embody the four pillars of the organization even after their undergraduate years.

This was released around August or September of 2019.

For my last active semester in my organization, UP Radio Circle, I was tasked to be the Creatives officer of the recruitment team. The concept came from the VP for Publicity & Creatives, then I took charge in taking the photos of the members as well as post-processing them and creating the graphics used throughout the activity.

Every year since I became a member of RC, it just happens that I become part of the recruitment team for the second semester then I’m always tapped to be one of the creatives officers. 

This year we came up with a more playful theme, thus the bright colors and the various elements in the publicity materials.

First photo is the main pubmat and the next two are the Facebook cover photos used in the official UP Radio Circle FB page during the recruitment season.

Since 2017, UP Radio Circle has been active in the annual University of the Philippines Diliman University Student Council elections by having an online video campaign featuring the different candidates, both from the College of Mass Communication and the whole university.

This year, I was given the opportunity to shoot and edit with the team. Most of my contributions were during the production itself (as a camera operator and production assistant) and post-production (audio and video editing).

Another initiative for Project Embrace that we had was a photo drive both for the university and the national elections. 

We asked students to pose with a Form 5 and an indelible mark on their index finger (stamp ink was used) to symbolize that each of us should exercise our right to vote.

Project Embrace is an annual campaign initiative of UP CMC ISA which calls individuals to embrace particular calls. Previous advocacies include embracing members of the LGBTQ+, Persons With Special Needs (PWSNs), and what it is to be a Filipino.

Project Embrace was re-launched this with the campaign title: Embrace Your Right To Vote. We chose this specific advocacy this year in relation to the upcoming midterm national election. In addition, we began with the campaign a few days before the 2019 University Student Council elections of UP Diliman. This is to promote a greater voters’ turnout but more importantly, to make everyone realize the importance of exercising one’s right to vote for their next leaders.

Being one of the creatives officer for the project, I was tasked to come up with the main poster as well as the cover photo, both uploaded on the page. I also initiated to come up with a publicity material uploaded a day before the election to give awareness to voters with the things to do before, during, and after voting.

Volunteered to be part of the Creatives team of the Freshie, Shiftee, and Transferee (FST) Committee of the UP College of Mass Communication Student Council last semester. Here are some of the publicity materials I made that were released. Before being the President of UP Radio Circle, I was a member of the Publicity and Creatives committee and was the Assistant Vice President from January to May of 2018.

During the first Metro Manila Youth Convention organized by UP CMC ISA, I came up with stickers with quotes on leadership as well as our org’s four pillars. We sold them during the event.
