Sam and some other had set up one of the rooms in the hospital to work as a training room. In this room, community members could train in fighting or weapons. Luckily someone had found a paintball gun and she’d been using that to train people to better their aim instead of using ammo. However, today she was focusing on quickening her reflexes. She took out all her frustrations, her anger, and most of all her fear on the dummy.

“ what on earth do you think you are doing? ”

“Some of the kids back at the community wanted some toys. I know these are kinda bloody, but I’ll clean them up,” she said trying to sound strong. She hadn’t found any decent items to wrap for the children back at the community, and Sam really wanted to surprise them with a few nicely wrapped gifts. Sam, of course, would not do the wrapping as she barely even send a card without messing it up somehow.

The brunette had been making her rounds looking to see if there was anything that she could help to fix. “You need to take a break.” She said softly. She walked over placing down a bottle of water, and some nuts for her. “I found them in the on call room.”

Sam knew that Rebecca was right. She’d been working hard to make sure that the hospital was secure. Sam put on a brave face and played it off. “Oh you know, I’m just testing your reflexes,” she said taking the water and nuts. She opened the nuts and offered some to Rebecca first, “Ya want some?” She asked.

“Wait really?” He looked over to the other. Perhaps going straight into – whatever this form was – was actually a really bad thing. “Oh your joking! Phew. Uh, can you just – I don’t know? Pull my legs down or something?” He has no idea how he got into this form, much less how to get out.

“Ok, here goes nothing,” She said with a playful laugh. She tugged at his legs gently pulling them down. “I didn’t know you were so into Yoga,” She said once she helped him lower his legs. “Does it help?” She asked giving him a light pat on his leg. She stood up and offered him her hand.

Once upon a time wrapping sheets might be easily obtainable, but now, it was a precious gem to stumble across some - especially ones that weren’t too dog-eared or faded. And multi-colored, sparkling wrapping paper? Christmas had come considerably early. “This is absolutely marvelous– Oh, here! Would you mind?” he motioned to the seat beside him, pulling out two pairs of scissors and sliding them towards the other, “It would go much faster if I had an extra set of hands,”

“Ok, but don’t get mad at me when the gift ends up being ninety-nine percent tape and one percent wrapping paper,” Sam joked as she sat next to him. Sam was still getting used to being a part of something, but she seemed to be a natural at it. Samantha had spent most of her life keeping everyone at arms length, and now, she found that she couldn’t help but to want to shield everyone from the dangers outside.

“Shut up will ya?” She whispers tilting her head. Task one of making the hospital safe was to make sure that they either killed all the dead or sectioned that wing off. Sam, who usually was a cold person, now found herself desperately trying to save as many people as she could.

jackson had been walking home from work when he saw a fight. he made his was over to it seeing two people fighting. he knew what it was about. he had seen the news earlier at work. everyone had stopped working, and had been dismissed for the day. he wasn’t going to do anything until he saw one punch the earthquake victim. he stepped in shoving him away from the other, trying to separate the fight. the guy threw a punch at him causing jackson to stumble backwards. that was when he saw a woman step forward.

“Back the hell off,” She said roughly pushing the guy away. “What’s your problem?” She asked. “You think you’re big shit punching people? These people lost their homes and families. Don’t be a little shit,” she said pushing him again. She turned her back on him and asked the earthquake victim if they were ok. “What about you hero, are you ok?” She asked.

SCOTTSDALE, AZ HAD BEEN anything but kind to her. desperate to return to the crisp boston air she had left behind for a man she NEARLY killed, the only thing keep her here was the thought of her son returning to her once more after all the years lost between them. she failed to socialize out of the FEAR of becoming comfortable with the citizens that inhabited a town she could care less about. it was a selfish way to live but BEDELIA lived long enough to know that a selfish woman lived LONGER. she occupied a empty cafe seat outside the worn diner that seemed to be a local hot spot. she looked into the distance wondering what it TRULY felt like to be relaxed, the aching feeling to be grounded was something she failed to experience and she was desperate to FEEL it surge through her veins once more. a gentle voice brought her back to LIFE. she turned to greet the voice that broke her from her PEACE. ❝ apologizes. i must have dozed off for a bit. ❞ as a gentle brisk of air sweeps past she grasps the rim of her over sized sunhat. ❝ i was actually searching for a new hotel. unfortunately i ran into some COMPLICATIONS with my previous one. ❞

Sam wasn’t one to take to people so easily. However, there was something charming about the woman wearing the oversized sunhat. Typically her response would have been sarcastic or rude, but she found herself entranced by the woman. “I can tell you’re not from around here. I’m not just saying that because you just mentioned hotel complications,” he said sitting down. “I’m Sam, nice to meet you.” She held out her hand. Her mannerisms showed that she was raised by a single father. “What kind of hotel are you looking for?” She asked. She paused for a moment to order a burger, onion rings, and a large glass of tea. Sam liked to take certain liberties, such as inviting herself to someone’s table and ordering. “Man, I love the food from this place. Have you eaten yet?”

She took a seat one chair away from the woman. She’d gone home and changed out of her work clothes and was not in her natural element.
