jivnnas:
the moment his lips turn upward her fist clenches, wanting nothing more than to just get rid of the stupid look on his features. her eyebrows are still pulled together, more shocked that she was seeing him again especially RIGHT NOW â which had been awful timing. this was not the time to be asking forgiveness for her sins, this is when she needed to be off the streets. he needed to be off the streets, away from any contact with people. hands move to grab at his shoulders, pushing him away from the streets and into the nearest alleyway. away from the group sheâd currently been sectioned off with and into the dark abyss of the dimly lit cutoff. jiannaâs feelings towards aiden werenât well spoken, even when they were together she had refused to say she loved him â that was until he was getting whisked off to prison. even though the words had only left her lips a few times, each time she looked at him she could feel the twist in her chest, the raise of her body temperature, the butterflies in her stomach. whatever it was - no matter how toxic, she hadnât stopped herself from being inevitably in love with the criminal.Â
â cute. â she played, head tilted upwards so she could look into the chocolate hues of her ex-boyfriend. the italian didnât let his eyes on her pull her away, knowing the feeling all too well of his examination. â you shouldnât be out here. not right now. itâs not safe. âââ and no, i did NOT miss you. â
Heâd always done his best to notice her body language, and the way her fists CLENCHED didnât escape him. The fact that her eyebrows were still pulled together was also something heâd taken note of. When she gripped his shoulders, driving him backwards, he didnât protest. Once they were in the safety of the alley, he exhaled a breath he didnât know he was holding, a sign of his tension, he supposed. Being this close to her was DISTRACTING, made him think of old times, and made his blood boil all at once. Aiden loved few, and when he chose those select people, his love never ceased. Heâd never said those three little words to her, but god, everyday he felt it. STUPID. It was foolish to fall in love, especially with someone like her. Neither of them were benevolent, it could never have worked forever, but in those moments, some part of him wondered.
His eyebrows rose when she informed him that it was unsafe to be out. âGood thing Iâm armed then,â he replied drily. Once gun was hidden beneath his shirt, one knife in his boot. It wasnât much, but it would be enough. Heâd learned to fight as a robber. Part of the job description. âAh, câmon, donât LIE, Jianna. Iâm sure I haunted your every thought.â Aiden lapsed into silence for a moment, âAnd if itâs so unsafe, what brought you out here? I know that you can handle yourself, but...â
jivnnas:
jianna was currently making her way to the hospital, it wasnât hard to go unnoticed - stick to a crowd and donât raise your head. it wasnât that hard to go unnoticed when there were riots in the streets, people shoving and pulling - others being attacked. she didnât try to help anyway - just get to her destination and ignore anything else around you, though â- keep alert just incase something went wrong with her already settled plan.
this would be the FIRST time sheâd see aiden since he was put in prison. which was all due to her. her mistakes, her bad choices. the one time she had been of her usual a-game, a couple of mobsters had got her in a hold, picking up the pieces of a mission sheâd considered failed if they would have came out to her father about such things. it wasnât that she didnât love aiden - oh boy, did she. at one point in her life she wouldâve even considered him the love of her life. in fact, she did what she did to PROTECT HIM. shock immdiantly took her features, eyebrows furrowing at the much broader male. a face sheâd been so familiar with just a few months ago. â â- what - aiden?? â
Her surprise brought a small smile to his face. Satisfied in shocking her still, it seemed, although not in the same way as before. Mere months ago, it would have been with glittering jewels (stolen, but the thought was there), or something heâd seen her admiring in a shop. Now it was because he wanted to see her look at him with REGRET, see her beg for FORGIVENESS. No, he hadnât forgotten about her. He never would. Next to Ethan, she was the person that he cared the most about. Underneath it all, he still did.Â
âOrange just didnât look good on me,â he spoke quietly, head tilting. He scrutinized her, not bothering to keep it subtle. From head to toe, his eyes took her in. Still beautiful, still deadly, no longer his girl. âMiss me?â
@jivnnas
Alone, Aiden was alone. After the initial spotting of hi friend, theyâd separated once again, agreeing to communicate with phones. Except the towers had gone out, and now the power was failing. Their entire system was FAILING. Was he surprised? Absolutely not. Desperate? Damn close, but heâd already ransacked home and stores. If he were a better person, heâd feel bad about that. Luckily, his conscience had died a long time ago.
Weaving through a crowd, he was attempting to get home as quickly as possible. The energy was electric, heightened to a point he was on his toes, prepared for a fight. Thatâs when he SPOTTED her. First it was the size, a reminder of the times his arms used to snake around her. And then it was the dirty blonde hair heâd run his fingers through each morning like a ritual. And finally, her face. A face heâd kissed in speeding cars. A face heâd admired hundreds of times. He crept up beside her, fearless as always. He bent closer to her ear and whispered, âI donât think the copsâll listen if you call âem this time, babe.â

âI still canât believe it. I donât want to, dude. Thatâs⌠God, he was only trying to help,â That was what their mayorâs last moments had been reduced to, that was the kind of man he was. And yet his life, and several more ended so abruptly. It wasnât just a shock - it still felt completely unreal, like a nightmare that was taking forever to wake up from. âA coup? Shit like, someoneâs trying to take over the U.S.? Fuck man, whatâs gonna be left if this thing is like, global?â Not that the incident being contained to their home town wasnât bad in itself. But if this man was right, if it was war on the whole country? They were undeniably fucked.
âThatâs where helping gets you,â Aiden replied bitterly. He wasnât doing much for the morale. Luckily, he wasnât the one that had to keep it up. As far as he was concerned, what he said was true. Helping only got you dead, injured or in prison. You could only look out for yourself, and if necessary, a really good friend. None of this made sense to him, but he made sense of what he could. The mayor was dead, brutally murdered, because he believed that he could save this city. People were killing each other on the streets. Mobs were forming. Public panic was high. And he was here, talking to a stranger that might eat him. âI donât know what else it could be. Can you think of any other explanation for people acting fuckinâ possessed?â He asked the question curiously, not confrontationally. He really did want to know what this guy thought.Â

It was totally chance that Aiden was sitting at a familyâs dining table, font door ajar, looking through their jewelry box. Totally. Their gold and diamonds were nothing extraordinary, he was in the wrong neighbourhood for that, but they would suffice. The way he saw it: the world was going to shit. Currency would live on, and it would be back to the olden days where gold and gemstones would be worth big bucks. In order to live, you had to do what it took. Luckily, he had no morals left. He herd the door push open and looked up from his project, ready to punch, kick and kill if necessary. Who he saw was shocking -- really, it was. âLottie?âÂ
Of all gin joints in the world.Â
drewsepholsen:
âHoly shit,â It was really the only thing Drew could mutter as he watched the video of the mayor - their once healthy, charismatic, alive mayor - being disemboweled and ingested. Trying to keep his gag reflexes in check, Drew shuddered as he made his way from the bar, now dialing his dadâs phone number. So engrossed in the task he didnât bother to see someone heading his way, instantly colliding with them and sending his phone to the ground. âCrapâ Uh, sorry, sorry I wasnâtâ Uhm, hey, did you⌠did you see this? The mayorâs dead, man. The hellâs happening, yaâ think?â
The local bar had become his usual hangout these past few weeks. The staff knew him there, knew his order, and the other patrons greeted him with stoic nods. Pretty homey, as far as he was concerned. Aiden was busying himself flirting with the bartender when a scream echoed inside of its wooden walls. He glanced up, his eyes landing on the rather expressive man, and followed his gaze up to the TV. The TV where their mayor was being disembowelled and cannibalized. His stomach rolled at the sight, pretty telling considering that things rarely phased Aiden. Heâd been a thief, a killer, and imprisoned after all. He left a 20$ on the counter and set out to find the bastard Ethan. A man collided with him before he could get far on foot. Normally, heâd ignore him, but in this case, he figured responding was the least he could do. âYeah, I saw,â he said grimly. The image flashed before his eyes all over again. Skin paling, he continued, âUh... something very, very bad. A coup maybe? A declaration of war from another country? Could be chemical warfare makinâ everyone crazy.â
@fcknxethan
Rumour had it that denial was a powerful force. Hopefully that was true because otherwise, Aiden was officially the biggest dick in the entire fucking world. Here he was breaking into stores, houses and whatever other buildings that he could find. So far, he had a backpack full of supplies. Food, water, bullets and his own gun. If this really was the end and the end is neigh people were right, at least he was doing what was best for his own survival. Ultimately, who could blame him for that?Â
He slipped out of the connivence store easily, avoiding the crowd of people that had just rushed inside, pushing and screaming. So disorganized. If this were everyday life, they would be caught in a second. Aiden snickered, making his way towards the home next door. His hand gripped the door knob, he turned it, and the door opened.
Immediately, there was a man screaming, âGet the hell out!â
The sound of a gun loaded echoed from the living room. Aiden ducked on the porch, hidden beside the door out of the manâs range. âFuck,â he muttered to himself.
   Chaos had officially begun.
madamexbliss:
âWhile Iâm not so sure I totally agree with that logic I do agree with the results.â She grinned. âI could certainly use a drink thanks.âÂ
âI might be a lot of things, but logicalâs never been one of them,â he said, looking over at her. He was surprised to see Tabitha of all people, but certainly not displeased. âThe old usual for you?â
mattdhq:
âThank you very much friend,â He said a bit happier than one might expect. The truth was he was always happy when he was offered something for free.Â
âNo problem.â Aiden said with a chuckle. âItâs my one good deed of the month. What do you want?â
charliehornehq:
âWell thank you for that,â he said with a genuine smile. Charlie had been discussing it with his class since they heard the horrible news, and it wasnât something he wanted to continue to talk about. The fact that all those people lost lives, homes, or family bummed him out.
âNot a problem, we all deserve to have a drink bought for us once in a while.â Aiden said with a small smile of his own. âJust let the bartender know what you want.â With that, he turned to the bartender and ordered a scotch on the rocks for himself. âHowâre you coping with this mess? A lotta people seem shaken.â He was asking more out of curiosity than concern.
corlecnis:
Elizabeth offered the man a smile and sat down next to him. âFair enough, canât say no to a free drink. Although alcohol is just a temporary solution. You may forget it for one night, but itâs still there.â
Aiden returned her smile and nodded. âYouâre right about that, but itâs a damn fun solution.â It wasnât worth mentioning that he wouldnât be particularly bothered by it later. Othersâ struggles had never phased him much unless he cared about the people affected. Part of growing up how he did, he guessed. âWhatâre you drinking?â
goredolld:
âit has a few times before you got here.. does that make the chances of you buying higher? i got a yelp page you can check out.â
âCanât say that Iâll be buying any drugs from you -- youâre a kid. I admire the effort though.â
milomonroehq:
âI wonât turn down a free drink,â he said accepting the offer, âbut I donât think itâs wise to try and forget. I donât think youâll ever be able to forget.âÂ
âGuess it all depends on how you care. Some people can be pretty cold,â himself included, considering he wasnât all that bothered. âWhat do you want?â
samanthadhq:
âIs that an invitation to join you?â She asked with a coy smile.Â
âItâd be my lucky night if you did,â Aiden said smoothly. âWhatâre you drinking?â
foxworthhq:
âI normally wouldnât mind a drink, but I have to get up early tomorrow. If you want to buy me a coke I wouldnât complain.â
âWhatâre you getting up early tomorrow for?â Aiden asked curiously, ordering himself a gin and his new companion a coke.Â
fcknxethan:
Ethan glanced in the direction of his old friend, not daring to say anything that might end up in a fight because truth be told the last thing he wanted was to fight with him. Even if he deserved all of his anger, after all he had to rot in prison for all this time while Ethan got away. âI know I said it more times then I can count, but your dadâs an assâ He mumbled under his breath. âI donât know, I was actually thinking about going back to Miami, because I just know we could have gotten so much more out of that jobâ
Talking to Ethan normally, even if it was far from what he deserved, felt like he was surfacing after he was underwater for too long. Refreshing, a reminder of what he was missing. For that, he could put his grudges aside for the time being. And in these circumstances? It only felt fitting. He chuckled at Ethanâs reply, âThat he is. But without âim and mom, Iâd still be behind bars.â He probably shouldnât have brought that up. He just hadnât adjusted to keeping things from Ethan yet. âHuh, not a bad idea. Iâd ask if you needed a partner, but we both know the answerâs yes.â
