It always starts with one. One painting called “Fly By Fruiting” (inspired by Mrs. Doubtfire’s “Run By Fruiting”...it’s intended name, lol woops! 🙃). Now these new guys are off to (a super talent agent in) L.A, Wisconsin, one scheduled for San Fransisco, followed by a horizontal version for a collector in Palm Beach🏝 I used to think I had to reinvent the wheel with each piece. I now know I’m able to successfully recreate paintings from the same source material in 100 ways and I’m so relieved, too! I often feel like I haven’t experimented enough with a colour, style or subject... and I would tell myself “you already used fruit!” Or “you put that guy in the shot last time!”. Every photoshoot takes so much time and effort and I would be bummed to feel like I had “used up” my opportunity to explore a particular subject. I don’t know why? Sometimes I forget that I make the rules. “I AM THE LAW!”. Name that movie 🤪...or “I AM THE CAPTAIN NOW!” ... both would have been good. *The first to name both films in the comments section gets 25% off any new print order they want. No googling! Just like a builder/architect uses the same materials and or perfects their designs over time, ya? What are other examples of this?
