This is a question young Omar asks every morning, with hungry eyes and a hoarse voice from crying, in a heart-rending scene.
It's not a casual question; it's the cry of pain of a hungry child… and a cry for help from the heart of stricken Gaza.
The Hashem family, like thousands of families in Gaza, lives a daily tragedy in order to feed their infant.
Today, obtaining a carton of baby formula has become a distant dream, its price having become unaffordable for families who have lost their homes and sources of income due to the siege and destruction.
Hashem, the grieving father, goes out every day in search of milk… roaming the streets and pharmacies, returning each time with empty hands and a heart heavy with helplessness.
In his home, a helpless mother weeps silently, and a child who will not stop crying from extreme hunger.
This is not a scene from a movie; it is the harsh reality of a besieged people, in a world from which milk has disappeared… and with it, compassion.
