can we talk about how fucking amazing rick riordan is ?

normally when theres racist feedback due to a casting decision, the company / executives just ignore it or send a general tweet stating that it will not be tolerated. but not much is really done in the terms of like the producer or someone genuinely fighting the problem and standing for their cast.

rick literally wrote a whole speech where he first scorned people for judging leah before she even got on screen and demeritizing her skills and talent.

then, gives them a whole lesson of the meaning of racism and prejudice and said “yeah. thats you”

and ended it by saying that he didnt care if racist chose to not watch the show, and if you dont support leah you’re not a true percy jackson fan

(oh, and he also talks about how amazing leah is and how she is the embodiment of annabeth chase)
