Will never forget being at some catholic event with my ex girlfriend and her mom was picking on me for literally hours and I could see she was getting fed up and was going to say something and I was waiting for her to defend me or something and to my absolute horror after hours of being antagonized she finally turned to her mom and said “you are such a fucking bitch”. And I felt like somebody just got shot in front of me and her mom didnt even react

I’m here doing nothing much, just thinking about the fact that most people in my life see me as a blank slate for them to project their insecurities, fears, hopes and desires onto instead of seeing me as an actual human being. My own boyfriend of 7 years dumped me over the fact he saw me as being in some type of competition with him, like a game I didn’t even know I was in. I’ve lost friendships and people I looked up to because at one point they lose sight of me and only see the worst versions of themselves looking back. And they claim I don’t bring out the worst in others, yeah right.

anyway you should always remember that all those foreigners you see dying on the news are just as real people as you are who have just as much interiority as you do. there is nothing about you that makes you more important and it is by pure chance that you are not in their position. in fact, this holds for all of history. every person, no matter the horror of the fate that befell them, had just as much interiority as you do. i feel like some people haven't fully internalized this.
