Tick, tick, tick, tick, tick ✅

The train stops for a moment, Sun refracting through the window, Gently heating my cheek. The last green of summer Hangs from the trees Clinging to this final warmth. Leaves calmly tremble in the nearly still air, The sun sits low in the sky above it stretch murky blue clouds, Each bulging, pregnant with the elixir of the soil beneath. Silence momentarily engulfs our beings, Each passenger taking in the overwhelming still which pervades. Summers dying silence, I am yours.

Your hands were huge, Thumbs thick, Hairs sprouting from Knuckles. It is raining as we drive And the tyres make Immediately forgotten tracks Through shimmering puddles. Simmering tension Lies within each bulging Drop that sits upon the Cool windscreen. The window creaks As I open it and cast my Out stretched hand up To the sky. You are thirsty So I try to collect a cup, But my hands are too small And the liquid is not strong enough.

So. For what will at least be a long while this is my final layer on this piece! It's been a very interesting journey. 'Finding out' tells a lot of stories about the past few months and also a lot further back than that. Painting this has taught me so much about art and also about dealing etc. I hope that when people see this piece it has some of that impact on them. It is my biggest piece and so works from a distance like this but I think the real joy comes when you get close up and see the layers and textures. Happy Saturday x
