“I prefer titles, Sir. I like to be the most respectful submissive I can.” Rhiannon smiled curtly at him. She knew a lot of people for some reason were not all that okay with titles, but for Rhiannon it was important to always make sure that she was being respectful to the marks that were superior than her. “Okay, well. We can start with the simple dance moves, Sir. You’ve got a good rhythm going there, but just try to loosen your body a bit.”
Her hands moved to adjust the way his body was. He was locked and tense. “I’m surprised your not loose enough yet with all you’ve been drinking!” she laughed.
He shook his head in amusement as he tried to let himself relax more than he already had, “Okay, in my defense I already know my dancing is super embarrassing so I’m just trying to avoid the horror where I can.” He couldn’t help but laugh— it was a party and none of his friends were gonna care if he looked like a doofus just because he wanted to have a little fun. He really needed to stop taking himself so seriously and then he was positive he’d feel a lot better.
He followed Rhiannon’s guidance diligently, feeling slightly less awkward as he moved along to the music. “Okay, I think I’m starting to get the hang of it, maybe.”
Rhiannon didn’t quite know the boy she beckoned over. She’s seen him talking to Max a few times, but that’s as far as that went, but he did look extremely nice and that was always the important thing. “It’s okay! It’s a party full of intoxicated people I think everyone will be dancing pretty silly.” she gave him a huge grin and nod of her head before she began to jump around a little.
“I’m Rhiannon by the way. I don’t think we’ve properly met, but I think you’re good friends of my Master.” she smiled brightly before she finally stopped jumping, holding her hand out so she could properly shake it. “It’s nice to meet you, Sir!”
“Yeah, Max was my roommate back at our old school— he’s probably half the reason I made it outta there with my sanity intact.” He couldn’t help but laugh as she danced, shaking her hand enthusiastically as he swayed along to the music. “It’s really good to meet you too, Rhiannon. Y’know, officially. Uhm, you can definitely just call me Sammy if you want— but if titles make you more comfortable then by all means, I’m not gonna stop you.” He paused to listen to the music being played - how he was ever gonna dance to it was beyond him but he was bouncing on the balls of his feet and grinning and that felt like enough.
“You wouldn’t happen to know any dances I can try, would ya? I’m a little lost, here.”
Rhiannon always loved when parties happened, especially when it involved the people she’s grown to be somewhat close friends with. Of course, she wasn’t in the cast of American Idiot, but she was happy that she was invited and able to spend time with them. Since she wasn’t the one in charge of planning anything she felt a bit more free to do whatever made her comfortable and that involved delving into the alcohol and what else was there.
She wasn’t completely wasted, but enough that she was giggling and laughing and with a lot of the band there to play music she was dancing along and having a lot of fun. “Come on and dance with me.” she said to the nearest person beckoning them with her finger.
Sammy called himself a partier in a primarily casual way— he’d done a hell of a lot of it at home in Santa Monica and wilder stuff with friends in the LA area but he’d always been a fairly mellow person; getting uproariously drunk was only appealing to him some of the time. He wasn’t entirely in the mood for it even surrounded by people he knew would happily take care of him if the need arose but he was perfectly willing to have a few before he threw in the towel and he was half way through his third drink when he heard someone ask him to dance somewhere off to his other side. Without the alcohol he’d probably have politely refused, as dancing had never been his strong suit.
Instead, he found himself settling his drink in as stable a place as he could find and following Rhiannon with a bright grin. “I’m not like, the world’s best dancer so I hope you can be a little patient with me in the mean time— while I work the basics out.” His grin had morphed into a crooked, slightly sheepish smile and he hoped she wouldn’t mind his apparent lack of skill as a dance partner. “I’m not above just lookin’ like a dumbass, though.”
It took me a whole day to move in and I don’t know who are my roommates or if I’m getting one, but at least the hardest part is done, right?
I’m going to miss the beach house, yeah.
Moving is kind of a shitty activity, but once it’s done— at least you don’t have to worry about it for a little while. I think I’ve moved three times in the last year, it’s kinda rough.
Excited to be back at school?
I feel like I should have some kind of charming or witty comment to put here about finally joining the masses…
sadly I am rarely charming and even less witty… hmm..
If it makes you feel any better— the extent of my witticisms pretty much begins and ends with puns and dumb jokes. So, y’know, if you wanna hear one of those - I’ve got your back.
I’m Sam, by the way. Or Sammy, whichever.
Okay, if that’s how you want it, we’ll do it that way! I’m very excited to be your model, as you can already tell.
I’m very glad to hear that, as I hope you can already tell. We’ll kinda just look at it as a time to hang out, if that’s chill with you?
I try to remind myself of that. Sometimes my mouth just works faster than my brain, you know? I don’t know what to do about it. But I do like people who like silly things! Also sunflowers! No more than anyone else. Sometimes it’s just my natural state.
I definitely get that— my little brother has ADHD, so I think he’d understand a little better than I would but sometimes I’m the king of talking faster than I’m actually processing anything. All I can recommend is practicing— just, try to take a second to think about whatever you’d like to say before you say it. It doesn’t always work but practicing helps a lot in my experience. Totally understandable; I get that way whenever I have to talk in front of people. I like to think new people don’t make me crazy nervous anymore.
I’m sure Cordie could nail it. I’m a goob in the kitchen, but I do my best. We absolutely have to find a time this week and you have to come see the show next weekend to see me rock it also!
I can teach you a couple of easy things if you want, Mase. So you won’t feel like such a ‘goob’ about cooking— I personally think it’s really fun, so, if you wanna take me up on it. I’ll definitely be there!
Aww, adorable and super nice! I give you a ten outta ten! Thanks though, maybe if I’m less nervous I won’t say any dumb things. Nice to meet you! I’m Emmy!
Well, thanks! I say silly things all the time, kiddo, it’s really not the end of the world. Sometimes you luck out and whoever you’re talking to really likes the silly things and then it’s a million times better. Nice to meet’cha too, Emmy! I don’t make you nervous, do I? That’d kinda suck, I wouldn’t want that.
Just your face! It really works well for you! I hope that’s okay to say. My parents worry that I have no filter sometimes, but Miss Ariel says it’s okay when it’s nice stuff. Which it usually is. I don’t think mean stuff very much.
I really don’t mind it at all, personally. It was a compliment, for starters, and I don’t mind letting people say what they wanna say in front of me. So, that’ll be our deal, okay? You don’t worry about that whenever we get to talk. I’m Sammy, by the way.
If you need any tiny models, feel free to let us know. Our daughter loves posing and my husband is always up for supporting artists.
That’s super adorable— thank you, Sir. I got a whole slew of offers but is it alright if I keep it in mind as the semester goes on? Because I definitely wouldn’t mind taking you up on it. I’m just not sure when I’ll actually have time to fit everyone into things, especially when I start to get exceedingly busy.
I love taking pictures of landscapes, maybe we should hang out and keep each other company while doing that, wouldn’t that be great? That way we can share techniques and tips, if you’d like to do that, of course. Santa Monica, huh? I’m from Miami, and I could have stayed there, but I’ve convinced my mother I could live by myself in an apartment and attend Horizons. Luckily, I’ve had time to get used to this before classes start.
That’s really a beautiful thought, I’m glad we share that opinion about photography. It’s awesome to see someone agrees on that.
That would be pretty spectacular. I’m not sure how much time or interest you’d have but I’m starting to look into places I might be able to take trips to when I have some free time if you wanna tag along. Some that aren’t so far away and some that will probably involve road trips of some kind— if you’re even vaguely interested, I mean. I’ll keep you in mind? Do you like being on your own?
Is it something you haven’t heard much from other people? It seems to me a lot of people who feel really strongly about their work feel that way.
Yeah I get that. Mine are coming in a couple weeks to see the show and meet the boyfriend. And I guess do something with my sister too but she was just there so who knows. Hope yours are good, man.
You should come over to the house. A bunch of us are sharing rooms here at least for a while before school starts up again. Could be neat to see how that’s different when we’re back in dorms. Just come on over whenever and there’ll be a ton of people happy to let you shoot them.
With the camera.
Anyway if you change your mind about the risque stuff you know who to call. ;)
That’s really cool, though. My parents? I love my mom to death and my dad... well, he’s my dad, I guess. Could be better, but could be worse. I don’t like to complain. I hope you have a really good time with yours, though, when you do get to see them.
... You doofus, of course it’s only the camera I’m going to be shooting them with. :P I’m a very sweet person, in case you’re forgetting. But that sounds awesome! I’ll definitely take you up on that— considering I really need to catch up with anyone as it is.
You know I wouldn’t mind it but one: you’re seriously gonna make me blush and two: only if Jimi’s cool with it.
I’m a bit of a floater so it’s usually hard to keep me in one place for a long time so I wasn’t at that fancy school you were at for too long before we all packed up and left. Well, I’ll happily offer my services~ I tend to use my body for the good instead of the bad most of the time anyways.
I like it here a hell of a lot more than I did at our ‘fancy school’, so I think it was the best choice to get the hell outta there. Oh, gosh, thank you— I’m gonna have loads of good material to work with at this point. Most of the time, huh? Are you tellin’ me you’re a rebel, Miss?
Really? Maybe you could teach Cordie and I how to make them sometime. She loves learning new recipes. And I love latkes! Either way, we should definitely hang out and catch up.
They’re basically just, like, potato pancakes but I’d be absolutely stoked to teach you both. Maybe I can get my grandma to send me some or something— hers are way superior to mine. Duh, we’re gonna hang out. You name the time and place and I’m there, honestly.
I’m free, actually, so we can do this this weekend whenever you have some time, tell me where to go and I’ll be there. Do I have to do something for it, Sammy?
Nah, not really— just bring yourself and dress comfortably. I don’t feel like I need to put a lot of pressure on shoots; it’s loads more fun when the people I’m working with feel comfortable. So, that’s all I want for you.
