i love dean, and i will not be tagging my posts as anti dean winchester, because they are not. i am simply willing to acknowledge that as a character, dean is canonically aggressive, often times physically violent, controlling, and possessive towards sam. this has been a post.

pretty sure i’ve already recommended these several times, but honestly, nothing has changed over all this time — these 5 are still my absolute faves. i haven’t watched the late seasons, so all of these fics are from the kripke era. i prefer fics that stay as close to canon events/canon-accurate dynamics as possible. i also tend to prefer angst and dark themes, particularly explorations of dean’s latent sadistic tendencies (i love torturer!dean and the way he eventually comes to accept his violent side) and sam’s autonomy in the context of their dynamic. so, just a small warning: there’s pretty much no fluff here
