Something I want to make clear. I was never super into Sam gladiator in the first place, I struggled watching the original series and was only watching it for Taurtis. As fun as he was to cosplay, my Sam and briefly Nova cosplay are officially retired.
Firstly, some context. We have been broken up since January. Why we broke up is my fault which I take full responsibility for but i wish for privacy when it comes to details. They wanted no contact with me so I didnāt contact them.
6 months later during an IRL event, I ran into them on the first day like I expected to at some point. I said an awkward āHiā and left which if I saw them, I purposely avoided them and their group.
On the second day, I ran into one of their friends who was super nice, they even gave me a Sam keychain.
After an hour or so, My 5 friends and I were taking a break. While waiting for another friend, Taurtis came marching over like I had done something wrong. It took me a bit to understand that the problem was the person who gave me the keychain sells them and they wanted me to pay for it which I wasnāt made aware they sell them. As soon as I understood I got my wallet out, honestly I felt bad for giving $4 however for a 2 1/2 keychain, $20 is way too much. I gave them their money and they and their friends (at least 3 or 4 others) left.
After they left, I had 2 anxiety attacks during the rest of that event before I left to stay at my friends house which is when I texted them about how their behavior affected me and that it was extremely uncalled for.
To spare the back and forth, ultimately they werenāt going to take any responsibility for their actions or even apologize, so much so they doubled down with:
āā¦I donāt want my friends hard work to be given out for freeā
I replied back: āā¦what you did was completely uncalled for and I wonāt tolerate being treated like that by someone who wants NCā
After that, I blocked them until the event was over, restated my feelings and how their actions affected me and explained that if they and their group did this again, I will report them for harassment. As much as I donāt want to report anyone for bad behavior, I will not tolerate it.
After event, the only conversation we had was about them picking up their stuff, I gave them their stuff and they gave me mine which I never closed my door faster than that. Then I blocked them with no intention of letting them into my life ever again.
To be honest, they said they went through therapy which I still find it hard to believe after all of this. If you see this then please go back to therapy and have your therapist spell it out for you.
