the most valid ‘consumer action’ you can do is to just buy less shit rather than tearing your hair out finding the most ethical products and companies but still maintaining the same consumption level. anyone with an interest in maintaining an economy based on profits is not going to encourage you to buy less of anything, no matter how sustainable and plant based and so on. rather than thinking overconsumption can be good as long as you find the right stuff to buy, challenge the consumer mindset.

Mission Of Burma - That’s When I Reach For My Revolver
Mission Of Burma is a post-punk band formed in Boston in 1979. Like many other post-punk groups of the time, they aimed to expand what punk could do, and they did so by writing lyrically advanced songs and making their music more arty than the standard punk of the time, but still with a ferocious live intensity. Singing and songwriting duties were shared between guitarist Roger Miller, bassist Clint Conly, and drummer Peter Prescott. Their contemporaries included Gang Of Four, Mekons and Pere Ubu.
They came out with two classic releases, the Signals, Calls, And Marches EP and a debut album, Vs., but had to break up in 1983 when Miller developed tinnitus from the band playing so loudly every night. They reunited in 2002 and are still active today.

"I need to make this space for me and other girls to come after me because we deserve to be on magazine covers," she tells PAPER over the phone. "And I’m not talking about the dolls that get their work done. I’m talking about dolls who can't afford surgeries. I’m talking about dolls with beards. I think it’s really crazy that we still really don’t have models that are trans women who aren’t cis passing or 100% passing. We need models with beards. We need girls with five o'clock shadows,"
