Simple sketch of Gilbert -
I did not have the energy to draw something extravagant today, though I still wanted to draw... so I did a sketch of a manga panel
Izumi Shikibu, from a poem featured in Japanese Poetic Diaries; The Diary of Izumi Shikibu
I might make a kazeki ocā¦
I will never get over this panel
There goes my third attempt in trying to draw something. I genuinely can't draw
Ā Iāve found more images on the Internet! The first one is a cover of the magazine āJuneā, in a 1987 edition. Serge and Gilbert are beautiful in this image, and I donāt remember seeing them together in this pose during the manga.
I donāt know the origin of the second image, it is probably the cover of an artbook or magazine.Ā
The third image is from a magazine, which places more emphasis on āToward the Terraā (another work by Takemiya Keiko), but has some illustrations by Serge and Gilbert.Ā
The fifth image is of a vinyl record of the Kazeki soundtrack (which, by the way, is very beautiful, I recommend listening on Youtube). The curious thing is that the title is in French, maybe the manga has been translated into another language besides Italian and Spanish.Ā
And the last image is the cover of a notebook that was illustrated by Keiko Takemiya, it is a normal notebook with lined lines to write, it is only customized with the main characters.
I saw another painting in particular that sparked me as an idea for a drawing of Gilbert since I haven't drawn him in a while
Two paintings that had caught my eye during my visit to the Museum of Art. I adore the soft, light color palette and background scenery :)
First image: "Tanis" - 1915 by Daniel Garber
Second image: "Child and Boat" - 1899 by Edmund Charles Tarbell
Marguerite Duras, from her book titled "Writing," originally published in September 1993
I usually re-create illustrations done by Takemiya, so I really want to create something just off my own mind once I get back home
I am going to an art museum tomorrow along with my family... maybe I can find a few paintings as references for my drawings
i really need to do a kazeki reread but one where i take notes the whole time or something, get thoughts on every scene bc i'll reread and not remember every thing
Le PoĆØme du Vent et des Arbres - Keiko Takemiya (Shogakukan 1985)
I genuinely have a great idea for a drawing just marinating in my imagination... I really hope I do not forget it in the morning
Sometimes I look at what speech and wording I use in my writing or blogs and realize how robotic it sounds </3
