I just came back from another great trip to Mexico. I hadn't been to Sinaloa in over a year and it was an amazing way to start 2019. Any amount of time spent over there is a win for me! 1. I dont know what is is, but the fruit this time were crazy huge. This is a guava. 2. Take note that this will be the only time you see me drink a beer. 3. This is nowhere near half of half of half of the family. Look at us we're ALL STARS (get it?) 4. As of this passed weekend, we have a biochemical engineer in the family. 5. The graduation party was spectacular! Everyone had a spotlight. 6. One of my nieces is expecting. I can't wait to visit again and get to meet not only her baby, but the other three babies that will be born later this year. 7. I totally surprised that this Mexican party had my jam. Ya'll know I was center of attention and commanded all eyes on me. 8. Wait for it... ... ... I mean it was his party. Hope he had all the shots that night. Earlier today I participated in my first half marathon. My respects go out to everyone who woke up early and showed up. It wasn't easy. Both of my ankles and my left hip gave me problems after the 8th mile. I cried twice, not just because my body was in pain, but I had no clue there were going to be pictures of fallen soldiers who left this world while in action and pictures of small children who overcame the heavy obstacle of cancer. Today was about them! I accidentally left my headphones at home and it was a blessing in disguise because it allowed me to soak up the experience as a whole. My goal for myself was to just finish. Period. I'm grateful/lucky to say that I did it in under 3 hours with a minute and a half to go. Miles 9, 10, and 11 were the hardest on my body. At mile 12 I told myself I would move as fast as my MIND would allow me, not just my legs.
