It was a perfect day in Axle City, and everyone was thinking the same thing: What could be better than a beautiful sunny day? Well, I’ll tell you what; it’s the 4th of July, which means... a big race and… FIREWORKS! But, there was some other monster truck was thinking otherwise… they were thinking of their biggest crush, which was Pickle, but who could be thinking about Pickle on the biggest night of the year you ask? It’s Crusher, the biggest racing cheater of them all. He wants to confess his love to Pickle, but he’s afraid that Pickle secretly hates him for the constant cheating, so this time when he competes against Blaze, he’ll try his best not to cheat his way to victory. Let’s see how it goes.
Blaze: Hey AJ, you ready for the big 4th of July race?!
AJ: You know I am! Are you ready, Crusher?!
Crusher: (Looking at Pickle while blushing)
Blaze: Uhhhh, Earth to Crusher… are you there?
Crusher: (Sparkly baby eyes) Mmhm… I’m listening honey~
Crusher: HUH, WHAT, IS SOMETHING ON FIRE?!
Blaze: Noooo… but your face seems to be very red~
Blaze: C’mon AJ, you saw the way he was looking at Pickle. He’s clearly in love~
AJ: Well… I guess I can’t deny that you’re right… I think Crusher has a crush~
Crusher: (Blushes) I DO NOT HAVE A CRUSH ON PICKLE!
Blaze/AJ: Uh-huh, sure you don’t~
Pickle: Don’t what, Crusher?
Crusher: PICKLE! HI, HELLO, HOW ARE YOU BUD!? GOOD? THAT’S COOL!
Pickle: Uhhhh… I’m doing fine…?
Crusher: COOL, ABSOLUTELY COOL!
Pickle: what’s up with him?
Blaze: I have noooo idea~
(he absolutely knows what’s going on)
AJ: I’m staying out of this.
Pickle: Ok, see you when you race! ^w^
The big 4th of July race was set to start in an hour and Crusher was stuck on what to say to Pickle when he confesses his love. Blaze, of course, noticed this, and despite Crusher’s constant cheating in every single race they’ve ever done, something in him put all that aside to help him.
Blaze: Hey, Crusher… are you ok?
Crusher: (Jumps) Huh?! O-Oh, yeah I’m just fine…
Blaze: You’re not fine, you’re spiraling.
Crusher: I’m fine… I swear…
Blaze: Ok… if you really think you’re fine, then ok.
But just know that I’m right here if you need me, ok?
Blaze turned to drive away, but he stopped and turned around when he hears crusher speak again, this time quieter.
Crusher: What if… Pickle hates me for cheating all the time…?
Blaze: W-What… why would you ever think something like that?
Crusher: come on blaze I’m pretty sure at some point you think he would get tired of it. Heck, even you’re tired of it!
Blaze: (Sighs) Crusher… while it’s true that I don’t appreciate when you cheat in the races that we do, I don’t hate you for it, and I think Pickle will feel the same way.
Crusher: (Trying not to cry) I-I wanna believe you, really I do, but… I find it hard to believe you, AJ, Pickle, or any of your friends don’t despise me for all the trouble I’ve caused throughout the years…
Blaze: Well… if pickle hates you so much, then how come he’s still by your side to this very day?
Crusher: He’s just being nice to me out pity…?
Blaze: No, he genuinely cares about you, the same way you care about him.
Blaze: Who’s the one who the other day chased that squirrel away when you were terrified to even go near it? Pickle did!
Blaze: and who’s the one who comforted you when you lost even after cheating? Pickle did!
Blaze: Don’t you see? Pickle cares for you, and I can see from the way he looks at you, he feels the same way about you~
Crusher: (Blushes) Ok, Ok, quit it with the mushy stuff!
Crusher: (Driving away) You do realize it’s 8:50 PM right?
Blaze: (already speeding off beside him) OH CRAP!
After the race ended with crusher being in second place and Blaze being in first place, there was obviously gonna be a fireworks parade because what’s the Fourth of July without a fireworks parade?
AJ: Congratulations you two!
Crusher: Good race, Blaze!
Blaze: right back at ya bud!
Pickle: Congratulations, Crusher! Even though we didn’t win the race, I still had fun with you! :3
AJ: Guys, the fireworks parade’s starting!
As the fireworks parade raged on, Crusher decided that it was now or never to confess his love.
Crusher: (Takes a deep breath) there’s something I’ve been meaning to tell you for a while now.
Crusher: I… I really really… really love you!
Pickle: (Blushes) Like… Platonically or…?
Crusher: (Dying inside) Romantically…?
Pickle froze for a long moment, which terrified Crusher, before he finally made a decision that would change everything for the better.
Pickle: (Still Blushing) Crusher, can you come closer?
Blaze/ AJ: oh this oughta be good~
Crusher: (Comes closer, still dying inside) OHMYGOSHOHMYGOSHOHMYGOSH…
Pickle: (Kisses Crusher on the cheek) Mwah! :3
Crusher: W-What? You don’t hate me… for the constant cheating?
I mean, yeah it was hard to deal with, but I know you just wanted to win, even though it still doesn’t make cheating ok.
Crusher: I know… I’m sorry…
Pickle: I know you didn’t mean it, Crushy wushy~
Crusher: (Blushes harder) HEY, NO NICKNAMES!
AJ: Blaaze… did you teach Pickle how to be a menace?
The four of them sat and enjoyed the rest of the fireworks parade together, and Crusher was glad to have a new boyfriend, and a kiss out of the whole ordeal as well.
