i think i will never rest in peace until christopher eccleston and catherine tate finally share the screen. it could be anything. it could be a cheesy christmas film, or a show where both their characters get put through the ringer. i don't care if the characters die in the end or if it's really good or really bad. i really wish we could just see them act out a scene together because i know that whatever it is, they would absolutely nail it as a duo

what makes it even more frustrating is catherine tate said she'd have loved for donna to interact with nine. and i know she doesn't know shit about doctor who despite having been in it lmao, it's one of my primary sources of entertainment, but she managed to only tell facts about nine, like how similar he is to donna on many aspects like how cheeky they both are... anyway, i hope one day our screens will be so blessed

catherine tate standing up for trans folks is amazing, but i've been out here singing her praises for the impact her doctor who arc had on the average depressed nerd's self esteem for over a decade now

actually i'm not done talking about this. the way she portrayed donna's self esteem issues as so ordinary and natural a part of her worldview that it seemed more like a fact than a feeling to her, and the way it rocked her entire world when it finally actually sank in that she was worth something, and the way she held onto that subconsciously even when she couldn't remember any of it, all while continuing to be a regular woman living a regular life (outside of her more fantastical hobby of traveling with the doctor).

I was listening to David Tennant & Catherine Tate radio shows, and in one of them they were doing interview with Peter Davison, and there is the funniest segment where they talk about musicals, that perfectly sums up the Tate & Tennant dynamic. CATHERINE: Talking of musicals, can I just say to you what my mom said to me about you? She said ‘David is just absolutely fantastic. Do you know what someone needs to do with that boy? Put him in a musical.’ [BOTH DAVID AND CATHERINE BURST OUT LAUGHING] But ‘put him in one’ as if you’ve got no choice about it. ‘I mean they need to find someone who’s life story he can tell and put him in a musical.’

DAVID: It has to be a life story?

CATHERINE: Apparently so.

PETER: I probably shouldn’t even mention that but that was a fantastic musical segment you did at the “Doctor Who” party.

DAVID: Yes, which the public will never see.

PETER: That’s sad because it was fantastic.
