it's glorious mysteries day, and i am contemplating the lord's resurrection. was he scared when he woke up tangled in burial cloths? did he gasp awake? did his wounds hurt still? did he fold the cloths in the total darkness of the tomb or was the rock already rolled away by angels? did the angels roll it away or did he touch it and say to it 'roll over' and it did? who did he expect to see first? was he happy that it was mary magdalene? did he expect the apostles to be there? was he joyous when he went to meet them in the upper room? what was it like when he first broke bread with them? oh my lord, how i long to know you better
one thing that does often actually genuinely break my heart about aromanticism is that it opens so many ontological pathways to methodologies that would unilaterally improve people's lives but most people can't even be bothered to learn about aromanticism much less apply those lessons to themselves
being aromantic (and being aspec in general) prompts you to unlearn the thought that a romantic relationship is going to fulfill you in a way that nothing else can. to unlearn that your worth is tied to your desirability. to unlearn that your life is defined by love. it prompts you to restructure your relationships. to reevaluate the ways in which the people around you contribute to your life and the ways in which you want to engage with them. it shows you that everything we know about relationships is defined by social constructs that don't need to be heeded. it opens you to a life of such blissful freedom and i feel such a sense of grief for the way that this information never seems to get beyond us
i bought my partner (also catholic) a bilingual dios habla hoy/good news translation bible bc they havent had an actual bible that was theirs since she gave hers away after confirmation and see how im always rambling bc im returning to the faith and wanted to have something to be able to read as well when im studying ... its kinda cool and awesome
why do people always bring up what past horrors "christians" have done?
do you not have the mental capacity to do the math yourself? let's try an exercise. someone you meet calls themselves vegan and yet eat steak every day for dinner. do you believe they're vegan? or can you simply do your own math on that one?
if people don't follow the words of Christ, then they are not Christian, it is that simple. this trans movement got people putting too much trust in peoples identity. peoples identity are what they do, not what they say they are.
As non-Christians, we don't really care about hypothetical people who lead lives of love, compassion, and self-sacrifice. We care about an actual, extant group of people that calls themselves Christians and actively oppresses us whenever they get a smidgen of power. Whether these people follow Christ or not is irrelevant. They're a group (well, group of groups) and call themselves Christian. We don't really feel a need to create a word for the majority of Christians who, in your opinion, are not Real True Christians™.
also, as a Christian who has directly suffered due to the oppression of other Christians and whose family and ancestors bear the scars of Christian atrocities, it’s fucking important that we talk about this, it’s important that we speak up and demand justice and restitution and repentance from our siblings in Christ, it’s important that we make it clear that “Christian” doesn’t only mean one thing.
it’s uncomfortable to be part of an oppressive group. I understand that. but acknowledging that reality is the only way to ever really start to heal. when Christians sin, if they profess that Jesus is Lord (and many of them do! quite a lot of Christian horrors come from people who truly believed they were doing the Lord’s will and the Lord’s work!) - they are supposed to admit wrongdoing and repent and ask forgiveness. where is the repentance and the penitence for the things these people have done? where is the commitment to making it right? they weren’t magically not Christian because they sinned. that’s both a logical fallacy (“No True Scotsman”) and not how Christianity works.
the horrors are here and we live among their bones.

We hear your cries, frustration, and prayers for love and patience. If you are concerned about the future of abortion access or are seeking
i'll never understand why, even if you believe that a human soul's life begins at conception, abortion is viewed as a murder and not self-defense.
and for those who are still torn, let's not fall into the trap of being those outside of abortion centers scaring away people from life-saving medical care. fight for those centers to be run with the utmost safety and psychological resources to minimize the trauma. dedicate time to providing steady food and shelter to the vulnerable. lobby for workers' rights. push for comprehensive sex ed at all ages. fund prenatal care.
if you really want to "end" abortion, focus on fighting the factors that push people into that corner. do not mistake the potential of an embryo as a valid excuse to ignore the real life and inherent dignity of its mother.
