What breed is Arthur?
Arabian partbred
Arabian sire (Endurance breeding) and an unregistered Arab/QH dam.
How long have you had Arthur?
Since late Feb 2016!
How did you find him?
Just on a local horse sale website. I scrolled past his ad initially cos there was a terrible cover photo then looked back a month later.
Do you ride arthur?
Yes, ideally twice on weekends and an afternoon or two a week between working full time and running an equine photography side hustle. I usually plan for 3 rides in Winter and 4 in Summer. It doesn't always happen to plan though!
Who's the man on arthur?
My instructor! He rides him the other days + the first 10 mins of my lesson.
Do you compete arthur?
No, my instructor does. He is competing PSG and has had his first Inter 1 start. He was competing Novice and had one Elementary start under his belt when I bought him (I believe that is First level and Second level in America?)
Why?
Nervousness from my previous horse + arthur had an SI issue in his first year and displayed some behaviours like she did which brought it all back (potentially some undiagnosed PTSD, who knows man). Had a lot of trust issues with him because of it + mostly with myself/my ability to get through a situation. It's been a long journey since only trusting myself to ride him on the lunge or in a lesson to finally riding on my own.

Favourite professional horses/riders/etc:
Carl Hester <3 I’m a huge fan of Charlotte and Valegro before their break, after they came back their work wasn’t quite the same. I like Laura Graves, = most Germans. Not so on the Isabel Werth train or the Dutch. I prefer people who look in harmony with the horse, have forward hands with the horse seeking the bit.
Why haven't you answered my ask?
I have had my fair share of anons baiting me with fake questions before just so they could overanalyse my answer to find any small gaps in my knowledge which of course is an ever expanding part of the journey. So I will probably be a bit standoffish if you are on anon. I answer 100% of all PMs to the best of my ability :)
