The facade of these 60 residential apartments was outdated and needed a new impulse. The window frames and the shading were replaced and the stone balconies were rebuild by a new design. The interior was no part of the design question.
By using ArchiCAD and Artlantis it was really easy to make 3D impressions to use for exchanging idea´s. Because ArchiCad also made it possible to build an accurate model, it also prevented some mistakes such as wrong sized window frames. These impressions were made for the design commission of Hilversum, who has to approve the concept and the design. The impressions were also used to show the plans to the residents who life in the building or in the area.
The design was made in cooperation with Frank Roodbeen. Frank made some of the designs concepts, such as the entrance with the mailboxes and the balconies. To exchange the idea´s between Regina and Frank they used some of the impressions, to show a specific corner or window, which needed attention. We took pictures of the current situation, measured the current situation and we used old 2D drawings (ground plan and a section). After evaluating this with Frank, Het Gooi en Omstreken, the design commission of Hilversum, every time changes were made (in technical details, color, etc), to get it just right in the end.
