Checked Misha Panfilov's Bandcamp last night to see if he has anything new out, and sure enough he released a new album that very day: Eternal Almost is a collaboration with Tomo Katsurada of Kikagaku Moyu and is, as expected, a psychedelic treat
âEternal Almostâ is a collaborative album by Japanese musician Tomo Katsurada and Estonian composer Misha Panfilov. Born from the simple joy of songwriting and creative exchange, Tomo and Misha had long admired each otherâs music from afar. When the opportunity to collaborate finally arrived, it felt completely natural, and by the time the album was finished, it almost seemed as though the two had known each other always. United by a shared sense of humour and musical curiosity, Tomo and Misha poured a raw, honest energy into these songs â one shaped by their intuitive rapport. In an increasingly artificial world, âEternal Almostâ subtly celebrates the qualities that make music feel most alive. Amid the weight of our current times, the pair hope this album brings listeners a sense of lightness, joy, and of courseâa gently surreal journey from beginning to end. The full album will be released on April 1, 2026, as a co-release between Funk Night (Detroit, US) and Future Days Radio (Amsterdam, NL). Los Yeltons - Yo Soy El Sapo (1971)
"I am the Toad"? Curious title, but the music is pretty great. Los Yeltons were from Paramonga in Peru.

Marter and Yony - Rhythm Matter - a generous serving of dreamy dub tracks from Masateru Yamauchi and Yoshio Kobayashi
The origins of Rhyth Matter trace back to 2011, shortly after the Great East Japan Earthquake. While visiting Yony in New York, the artist Mater recorded a series of demos. When Marihito heard these recordings, he immediately saw the potential for a full-length project and envisioned a concept centered on "Live Dub" with a distinct Basic Channel influence. Over several years, the project evolved through a rigorous analog process. The multi-track recordingsâoriginally captured on cassette tape, 4-track, 8-track, and reel-to-reelâwere eventually digitized into Pro Tools to be meticulously shaped into the final album. At the time, Marihito was releasing an album through Bill Laswellâs label. When he shared the works-in-progress with Bill and asked if M.O.D. (Laswell's label) would be interested, the answer was a definitive yes. Initially, the album was set for release via a licensing deal with M.O.D. However, complications during the vinyl production phase at M.O.D. led to the difficult decision to scrap the record release. Refusing to let the vision of a physical LP die, Marihito took the project back to his own label, Personal Affair, finally releasing it on both vinyl and digital formats as it was always meant to be heard. Produced by Marter & Yony Marter & Yony: Masateru Yamauchi (Bass, Keys & Synth) & Yoshio Kobayashi (Drums, Percussion, Keys & Synth on track B2:Palm's Dream) Jody Tenku Miyashita: Electric Guitar on (A2: Leve 13, B1: Alpha Wave) Yusuke Yamamoto: Synth on (A3: Cosmic Dance, B1: Alpha Wave) Daniel Jodocy on (B4: Fung-Ku) Artwork by Marihito "MARI" Ayabe & Namiko Ishikawa

Earl King - Medieval Days (1972)
This party is set in the Middle Ages but it's still plenty funky. Recorded in the early 70s with the Meters and Allen Toussaint, but not released until 1981.
