I was such a Gaara fan girl way back when. No shame.

I think what I love so much about his story is how he went from this edgy traumatized dark guy too, just an older fella taking care of his flowers. Gaara gardening as kazekage is an image that makes me really happy. So I guess I'll have to draw that too.

Anyway, I wanted to try something a little different than my usual sparkly cute style. Unfortunately you can't see the sand very well on Instagram, but boy the full image is pretty cool. Very happy with this one.

Can we talk about the flashback where Gaara takes Shinki as his own? More like the implications of it. Let's see:

The child doesn't have parents, because you can't take a kid that still has a mom or dad, or any family at all. Which means Shinki probably doesn't even have grandparents, cousins, or uncles/aunts that he knows about.

Shinki doesn't have a surname either, which is weird because you're supposed to have one the moment you are born. This makes me believe:

1. His family wasn't there the moment he was born (because of death, abandonment, etc.).

2. His parents never recognized him as their own.

How did the boy manage to survive until six years old? I mean, someone had to take care of him when he was a baby/toddler. Probably someone who wasn't blood-related to him.

And also, due to his power, no one would even want to take Shinki as their own. Raising a child with that instability is not something any normal person would want. But Gaara isn't just ‘any normal person’. Shinki was very lucky to be found by him: one of the few people who would actually know what to do with him and his power.

If someone has more information, please share it cuz I can't take it anymore with these thoughts 😿
