More closeups of Makonde Shetani sculpture. Top photo shows the extremely delicate base, including the repaired break. About 2 inches of ebony supports the entire 40-50 lb. statue. As typical of shetani expression, malevolent gods seen in the dream state are depicted very impressionistically, asymmetrical and a blend of various natural and unnatural forms.
It stands approximately 4’ tall. Lower right depicts some kind of rodent coming out of the only ‘ear’ with its fragile point broken and missing.
