Sam Wamm explained that over the last 50 years,
out of the entire human population on Earth,
only 4 people displayed original thought.
a child who survived a plane crash in a jungle
and was subsequently forced to raise himself.
a child who was part of an uncontacted island tribe
that survived a storm that killed everyone else.
a child who survived an earthquake
that levelled a city in eastern europe.
and one seemingly normal human being
who didn't stand out at all among their peers.
Sam explains that the latter is Irvin.
Eu Gran revealed that they were the earthquake victim
and Sam took them in
because the humans were going to kill them
just so that it wouldn't create an awkward political situation.
Which probably explains their undying loyalty to Sam.
the islander lived alone
until a tribe from a nearby island came over.
the visitors had seen that the island was now unoccupied
and wanted to colonise it.
when the boy from the previous tribe
came over to meet the new faces,
he was killed there and then,
so the tribe wouldn't need to argue the legitimacy
of their plan to colonise.
i suspect that this person here in Versus.
it explains why he's like a ghost that possessed technology
just so that he could live again in the real world.
if these are stated in chronological order,
maybe John Eq was involved in bringing them back from the dead.
the first in the list is stated to be a man named Rikiav.
they survived in the jungle until they were found by natives.
the natives tried their best to integrate them
but the boy was too wild.
later, an English family recognised that Rikiav was Caucasian
and so they tried to take him in and civilize him.
this failed miserably
but Rikiav developed a loyalty to the English family
and eventually became their manservant.
later, when bandits attacked their home,
the man of the house used it as an excuse to kill Rikiav,
claiming that he had shot Rikiav by accident in the fight,
when in reality the master was jealous of Rikiav,
because Rikiav and the man's wife were friends.
the master saw Rikiav as a rival for the woman's affections,
whereas the woman only saw Rikiav as an innocent child,
which she felt compelled to protect and educate.
Sam tried to intervene in both Rikiav and the islander's case,
but he arrived too late to prevent their deaths.
if the islander really is Versus,
then Rikiav is the only one we don't know anything about.
3 of the 4 needed to develop in isolation
for them to develop true autonomy,
but Irvin did it despite influence.
Maybe we'll find out something that triggered it in Irvin's past.
