Many writers have tried to give their take on the "Bruce Wayne's rich friend of years is murdered and Batman has to find the culprit" trope, and none of them acknowledge the fact that this has happened many times before, especially since these stories are usually just short arcs of 1 to 3 issues thrown in somewhere between hundreds of tec and Batman issues

Which means that nobody takes very seriously the depressing fact that this man must have already lost about 10 friends of his civil life and had to investigate the murder of all of them

Like "oh thats the Wayne guy who lost his parents as a child? What a tragedy, good thing that he managed to overcome it and is now a popular socialite with many friends, too bad they all continue to getting killed"

i just recently found out what hyper empathy disorder is, which, basically dumbed down, is when a person takes on emotional/physical distress when seeing another person in distress.

its just made me think of bruce if he had that disorder specifically towards gotham and her people, which is why he's so possessive of it(and why he has so many children)
