SaberCats Weekly Episode 2 is the second episode for the 2015 San Jose SaberCats season. SaberCats Weekly is a weekly magazine show recorded and broadcasted on local cable sports network, Comcast SportsNet Bay Area by local production company Atomic Productions. In this episode, they take a look back at the home opener versus the Los Angeles KISS. Host Chris Townsend sits down with Head Coach/Owner Darren Arbet to review the first home game of the season against the L.A. KISS. Plus Arbet talks of what is expected for the upcoming week's road trip to the Sunshine State and the game versus the Tampa Bay Storm.

LAS VEGAS (CN) - The Arena Football League claims a Texan told it he wanted to buy one of its teams, or start a new one, then announced he was founding a rival league two weeks after he signed a confidentiality agreement. Arena Football One dba AFL sued Mark Palmer, of Austin, on Oct. 15 in Federal Court, alleging fraud, unfair competition, deceptive trade and trademark violations. Arena Football, founded in 1987, is an indoor football league.

Shock Branding Remains in the AFL

Courtesy: AFL Communications The Arena Football League issued a statement per the usage of Spokane Shock. The Arena Football League has been in discussions with the Spokane Shock about allowing them to continue using the Shock name and trademarks. The rights to all Spokane Shock trademarks and logos are owned by the AFL and there have been earnest attempts to reach an agreement for the acquisition of those marks. Unfortunately, those attempts have not come to fruition and the League will retain the rights to the Spokane Shock name. The League intends to have a presence in the State of Washington again in the near future.

Texas AFL Returns

There are reports that several players from both the Philadelphia Soul and New Orleans Voodoo have confirmed the return of the Austin and San Antonio markets for next season. The Austin team would be the relocation of the VooDoo. It's not known whether they'd claim the Wranglers name and branding. They would play there home games at the Frank Erwin Center on the University of Texas, just as in the past. The San Antonio market would be the return of the San Antonio Talons to the city. The owners of the Talons would be Peter Holt of Holcat, the largest Catepillar dealership in the U.S. and owner of NBA's San Antonio Spurs. Keep in mind that both of the markets above have yet to be confirmed by the Arena Football League. The league will be holding their board of directors meeting in the coming weeks. As information is confirmed and released by the league, I will have it here.
