Lord! This book that The Inner Circle Book Club picked out for May… definitely has some twists and turns! Sometimes, you never know what goes on behind closed doors. I’ve had my share of smiles in public and tears and anguish when no one was looking… wondering why did I create such madness and chaos in my life by my choices. When your life feels like you are backed into a corner, what do you do? Well, one of my mentors used to say that the answer is always in the same room with the question. In that corner of my room where I stood wrapped in shame and judgement, I got quiet, unrelenting in seeking God and deciding that I wanted to experience the wellspring of living in overflow. I had to start with my thoughts which led to actions that aligned with this new mindset. And let me tell you, I’m STILL on the path of discovering mastery in this area but I’m grateful each day is a new one to make different choices to experience fuller and brighter aspects of living and loving I only DREAMED and knew in my heart was possible. Driving down A1A yesterday listening to a long lost playlist that featured a song I first heard in a coffee shop ( Dawes - Feed The Fire). I instantly smiled. I mean I was driving, wind whipping my bun, sun just a shining and me just a cheesing and singing to the top of my lungs . 😂 Days like yesterday felt personal. I can remember the drives where I didn’t even hear any words… just the silence in my soul wondering when I had become so…disconnected. Feeding the fire of your soul feels like pausing to remember all the reasons to smile. All the reasons to give thanks in spite of. All the reasons to be present with nature. All the reasons to be still and offer your prayers and offerings to the mighty waters and listen for the sweet acceptance of peace. All the reasons why all of who you are matters… not just to you but to everyone you encounter. They get the fruit of your connection to The Most High. The first line alone. 🙏🏾 During the fall equinox I set a goal for myself personally: “To be in the will and peace of GOD.” #dassit No targeted income goals, huge plans for living, nor positioning in relationships or pitching my business(es) for specific outcomes. And hey! There’s nothing wrong with that at all - it just wasn’t where I wanted to direct my focus. I only want strategic alignment with God and the peace that comes with that relationship. Have you ever asked yourself : “what makes you feel ALIVE?” For me, it’s the the thrill of a new adventure, exploration into spaces I’ve never been but I’ve heard their call. Trust me, I almost talked myself out of going several times. (I mean, gas prices are stupid 😒, I was solo dolo😏 AND I didn’t want to get stuck in traffic coming home😣). Nevertheless, I persisted. When I arrived, I knew it was the right decision. There, at the lighthouse I found my own light, through courage and exploration. I took deep breaths on the nature trail and closed my eyes immediately smiling when I heard the amplified sound of the waves hitting the dunes and the reckless laughter of children.
