God has been showing me a lot lately. First of all, for all of you, I want you to ask yourself some questions:
How often do I think about myself and what I want?
How often do I do things for myself?
Are my finances "me focused" or “kingdom focused”?
How often do I get on Pinterest and check out the latest outfits or other things that would look good on myself?
Do I compare myself with other people or am I set in knowing who I am as a son/daughter in Christ?
Those are just some of the questions I would like you to contemplate here...
You see in this world, it can be easy to get off focus. There are so many apps, so many videos, and so many "tips" on how to be better "physically." There is nothing wrong with these things, but let's look at the heart right now. I had to examine myself and God had to break off some things including looking at Pinterest for myself as of right now. I was spending too much time on it and all it boiled down to was vanity. I would look at outfits that I would like or things that I wanted...There is nothing wrong with perusing here and there on Pinterest. I'm not claiming that Pinterest is evil. It could be anything honestly. It is just so important on what you are letting in your heart, so that the fruit of your heart is good and not polluted.

“Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.”
Ultimately, we are put on this earth to fulfill God’s purpose. Don’t let other things distract you to get you off focus from God. The more you renew your mind to the Word of God, the more you will be transformed into who God wants you to be. His focus is eternal. The more you focus on what you want and things on this earth that are just temporary; it can get you off focus and lead to discontentment. Discontentment can lead to increased spending and so many other negative things. Are we entering into God’s courts with thanksgiving or discontentment because things are not going the way we want?
“Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!”
I just want to clarify that there is nothing wrong with going shopping or doing things for yourself here and there, but it’s where your focus is at and what is on the forefront of your mind continually. God is still working in my heart with this, but I pray that the revelation God has given me will challenge you to grow in Him. Have a blessed day!
