Closed Starter Calls

We’re encouraging the usage of starter calls for those who haven’t plotted together before, to plot! As you’ve seen, there have been graphics popping up for starter calls with the link to the mun’s blogs to reach out. We hope to see more of these pop up in the near future! 

The Process

The initial starter call is posted into the oocs. We recommend messaging an admin prior to posting the starter call that way they’ve got the starter call prepared and ready to post for the starter page. 

Starter calls will work like open starters. Members will reach out to the mun who posted the starter call. Once fellow members have reached out, have spoken with the mun about their starter call, and the starter is posted, the mun and fellow members will like the initial starter call post. 

If the admins notice no one has liked the starter calls, we’ll remind everyone in both oocs to reach out. If there are any communication issues at any time, it’s okay to reach out again, or just relay the message to one of us and we’ll be glad to help!

Enzo pulled out his guitar from the case as he started pulling his fingers over the strings gently, tuning it in so it was ready for later. He had decided to grab some lunch before band practice, and was patiently waiting for his club sandwich to arrive when someone stepped into the light in front of him, “Do you mind?” He asked, “I was kind of enjoying that.”

    “So I had to be fake engaged to help a friend and I was so offended when they said they were the ones to leave me–lemme tell you, real quick we created this whole fake dating life and it was kind of better than playing sims on my phone…I think I need to get out more.”

     “I’m telling you…I think I picked the wrong profession–don’t get me wrong, I love getting paid to argue, my favorite past time, but…listen…a pilot or flight attendant.” Ivy flashed a smirk, “I might have enjoyed being on vacation far more than I thought.”

Though he wasn’t initially thrilled about taking on the development project for the Mid-City apartment building his father had purchased, he was very satisfied now that he was seeing the final work-product. Nearly six months of meetings and renovation resulted in this beautiful building. He still wasn’t sure if he should sell or keep the building, but for the time being, it was his and he wanted to at least help find tenants for it. “Hi! Are you here for the apartment tour?” he greeted, smiling at the person approaching him.

Blaine had two more weeks before his internship ended, giving him a one-week gap before classes started back up. He already had his assignments for the semester, so he fully planned on getting them finished before that week. However, he didn’t know what to do with his week of freedom, so he figured he’d get a second opinion. “So if you had one week off between your internship ending and your classes beginning, what would you do? Where would you go?”

She peered up at the blazing sun, eyes squinting against the light as she looked at her house. Carsyn had misplaced her house keys and in a rare moment, not a single one of her family members were home. Five other people lived in there and nobody was home. She would have a rare moment of alone time if she hadn’t been locked out of the house. Glancing at someone heading up the sidewalk past her place, Carsyn waved. “Hey! Uh, you didn’t see any keys on the sidewalk did you?”

He pulled out the empty barstool glancing at the person next to him. Daniel didn’t say anything until he had a beer in his hand though. “Oh, uh…nobody’s sitting here are they?” It wasn’t like he cared one way or another, if he was being honest.

“Are you a fan of milkshakes?” Before there was an answer Mimi was handing off the extra drink that was in her hand to the person closest to her. “ I saw the guy at the stand mess up my order while he was trying to flirt with me and when I called him out on it he gave me this extra. I’m not sure if he was going to drink two milkshakes back to back, but it’s yours if you’d like it. Don’t worry about paying me or anything. You’re doing me a favor.”

“So I’ve been dabbing in mashups lately, and made this,” he stated, actually meaning to say ‘dabbling.’ “Hear me out. ‘Dare’ by Gorillaz and ‘Thos Shit’ by Megan Thee Stallion. I don’t mean to brag, but it’s pretty dope. You should give it  a listen.” He had the song pulled up on his phone, ready to play at any moment. He was proud of himself for making this after a period of not having any inspiration.

“Hey you!” Nova pointed excitedly. “Yeah, you, come come come!” She waved over the random person that had just managed to cross paths with Nova making music from her garage while her parents were away at work. She was working on a set for the evening in which it was a wedding that not only requested her as a DJ, but as a singer as well. So putting together a few more songs that weren’t covers was going to be…interesting. “You can pull up the lawn chair and have a seat, but I want you to listen to this for just a few moments, I promise there will be culinary compensation as I’ve baked a fresh batch of cookies and you have the choice between chocolate milk, strawberry milk, and options for my non-dairy besties too!” She grinned. “Okay so, I’m gonna let you borrow my headphones and you’re just gonna listen to a 1 minute snippet of a song and you gotta let me know what you think. Like full on honesty here!”

Alexander laid sprawled out on the beach, lazily taking drags from his freshly lit joint, the cherry of his smoke burned bright in the dimness of the night. It was a lovely day, an even better night, for a BBQ. He had to hand it to the host; they knew how to throw a party. He took another deep drag of his smoke; thick fog invaded his lungs; he let the slight pressure rest in the center of his chest. This was what life was all about for Alexander. Moments to relax, to enjoy the little things, a chance to escape reality while lingering on earth. 

For his outfit he picked out his favorite wing angel wings and a pair of hawaiian shorts. He didn’t have much of a reason to be dressed like this, no particular character he was trying to portray, so if anyone asked, he would just say he was a ‘beach angel’ or something silly like that. Alexander couldn’t help it, the guy often looked for reasons to wear any of his wings.

The soft pitter-patter of footsteps crunching into the damp beach sand came from behind him, slightly drowned out by waves of the ocean that came up to hug his toes every so often. His head lazily turns to look at who is heading his way, offering them a friendly, slightly dazed smile. “Hey, hey. Want a hit?” He offers, holding the joint up for the other just in case they did.
