I hired a moving company for this move. With a name like Edo Japan Samurai Movers, I just had to!

Let me tell you that they were VERY strategic, careful, and efficient. None of my furniture or walls were knicked.

A true Japanese moving service experience.

At the same time, they were a little TOO thorough. Absolutely everything was wrapped in plastic - even pieces that I didn't care much about. My shitty coffee table? My computer desk? You can just roll that one away!

In the end, I ended up with heaps of plastic and DOUBLE my estimated hours (and, thus, double the money I set aside for moving).

Fantastic, fantastic service! ... if you really care about your stuff.

I'm happy to say that my cat, Peanut, has already acclimated to the new home. He was very, very nervous at first. Mostly hiding behind the laundry machine... of all places.

It took maybe 48 hours until he became his rambunctious, annoying self again. 🐱
