Upgradable Starting Equipment - Upgrade Your Armour, Keep Your Aesthetic
This mod lets your companions (or you if you're doing an origin run) keep their starting outfit even when you upgrade their equipment.
The base mod covers companions with fully personalized armour. The class expansion covers Gale and Wyll, who have their starting class equipment.
A box with all the patterns and a pair of Separating Shears is in the tutorial chest. Origins and companions also have the pattern for their starting equipment in their starting inventory.
Combining this pattern with a piece of equipment will give you the appearance of the visual base and (most of) the properties of that equipment. The names and descriptions are the same, even when the description talks about its appearance (there is one little easter egg I put in).
The Companion Mod has most of the companions. Astartion, Jaheira, Karlach, Minsc, and Shadowheart's patterns are all very simply the equipment they start with.
Laeâzel and Mintharaâs patterns are expanded. Laeâzelâs pattern (the Githyanki Set) has the Circlet of Psionic Revenge and the Hrâaâcknir Bracers. Because the bracers are coloured to match the Psionic Ward Armour the set comes with two reusable dyes so you can have a uniform colour scheme. Mintharaâs (the Drow Commander Set) switches out her starting boots for the boots that were clearly designed to match the rest of her outfit but were ultimately unused. The Boots of Striding are a separate pattern, which she also has.
Halsinâs armour is a bit weird. The armour he has in the unmodded game had the same appearance as the default druid armour for every body type except his. Some of the other body types have the files for his but not all of them. So the armour this mod produces will look like Halsinâs armour on âhumanâ body types 1, 2, & 4; gnome body type 2, and dragonborn body type 2. (Human covers human, elf, drow, half-elf, and tiefling in this context.) On everyone else it will look like the default druid armour. His pattern does not include the Grovetender Boots. You can get those in the Class mod, as they are just the starting druid boots.
THIS EXPANSION IS INCOMPLETE.
This will add all the starting classes and subclasses, eventually.
BUT FOR RIGHT NOW it has Warlock, Wizard and Druid. The Wizard pattern comes with a dye to match Gale's starting robe. Druid is here in case you want Halsin to have the druid boots.
I'm publishing this one incomplete because I want to release all the companion gear at the same time.
I do plan to make more expansions, after I finish the class one. Have a request? Send if to me in my ask box. I'd love to know what people are interested in.
